HCV infection can be detected by anti-HCV screening tests (enzyme immunoassay) 4–10 weeks after infection. Anti-HCV can be detected in >97% of persons by 6 months after exposure.

No new test are going to have a shorter window period, the window period is based on when antibodies form in the blood for the AB test and for when RNA becomes present in the blood for HCV RNA by PCR test
