40 years old and living with HCV type 2 for 20+ years.  VL was 18 million/mL pre-TX.  UND at week 4, and UND last week going on week 12.

I'm 1A, on 72 week TX.  Didn't get UND until week 17.  That's great that you're UND at week 11!  It's a good indicator you have a shot at SVR.

Congrats to you.

Of course, you have to finish up your treatment course, which as a genotype 3a, is usually 24 weeks.

If that was your first viral load test, I'd say your chances of being successful are better than 80 per cent.

If you tested at week 4 and were still detectible, then I think your chances would be somewhat less.

This all assumes you do not have cirrhosis. If you have cirrhosis (stage 4) then your chances would be less if that was your only test, but not sure how much less. If you were stage 4 but were still detectible at week 4, then I think your chances of success would be still less.

My stats (genotype, age, length of infection, und @ 12 weeks, etc, etc) are all very similar to yours. I've been undetected almost 5 years now.

does the higher your viral load mean the longer you had HCV ? and has anyone who else is genotype 2 stage 2 ever been undected at 4 weeks be able to stop treatment before 24 weeks if side affects get to bad ? or can that cause virus to come back and the treatment would be a waste of time ?
