HCV test problem and risk

here is the thing: I had a protected sex intercourse and unprotected oral sex from a pro. I got a 177 days test result for Anti-HCV and came back negative. Is it home free for me ? And I want to konw the risk rate for me to contract HCV from this behavior.

The only way you can get HCV is if her blood gets into your blood stream. Did both of you bleed?

You had protected intercourse. Zero exposure.  Oral sex is not a mode of transmission unless you had open sore on your penis.  Hepc is contracted by blood to blood exposure and it not considered an STD.

You should be more concerned about hepatitis B.  That is an STD.

I don't think so. I check myself and clean myself with soap. no hurts were found.

Thanks . And I want to whether the result is reliable. Is it home free for me?

What part of zero do you not understand? There are people in here that are truly sick; any further discussion along these lines will be diminishing to them. You did not contract HCV from this source as you describe it--

“I received oral sex from the pro  ”

Enquiring minds would like to know.
How does one become a pro? Do they have college courses? Do they have to work their way through the Minors to the Majors? Do they provide a Resume with references for a background check to make sure it is a pro and not a scam artist? If the services provided are not professional, can they be reported to the Better Business Bureau?

the answer is not 0 - it can and does happen if only 1 case in 100- blood to blood is all it takes in any sexual position with any sexual partner any way you look at it when conditions are right - she could give it to him and vice versa - blood to blood does not include swallowing blood as the acid in the stomach takes care of that

"no hurts were found"

If you were paying attention to what the poster said the answer is zero. Protected intercourse, no hurts, no blood, zero exposure.  177 days out negative.

also many hurts are not readily visible like in between the teeth under the scrotum lost in the pubic hair etc etc - unprotected oral - see i was paying attention - ehem

Right at 6 months negative antibody test tells me no exposure.  Can't say I've ever seen anyone post they contracted hepc from a **.  If you want tell the guy he's at risk be my guest.

If antibody tests are uselss, how I can tell whether I contract HCV. And I think if I bleed during that process, i can feel pain and find that cut.

I think nathanfordsex doesn't have hcv, but that doesn't mean he's not at risk.

There is a reason blood banks and plasma centers ask you, " Have you had sexual interactions of any kind with someone else who donates here if you have hcv."  Why ? Because there is a chance to pass hcv to someone else during sexual activities.  Bottom line, I know it is rare, but there is still always a risk, regardless, that's why they ask you.

Get a HEP C RNA VIRAL PCR QUAN test to see if you have it or not.  Good Luck !

Cory.

“between the teeth under the scrotum lost in the pubic hair”

Is this the beginning of a perverted poem about Dental Flossing?

Antibody test is a very useful tool in determining if someone has been exposed to the hepc virus.  In my opinion, with a negative antibody test at 6 months you do not have hepc.  Having an HCV RNA by PCR would be a waste of time and money at this point unless you are seeking the ultimate confirmation for peace of mind

HCV is not an STD.  Monogamous couples with an infected partner are advised not to change their sexual practices nor is it necessary to have protected sex.  Even though you were with a "pro" you engaged in protected intercourse, no rough anal sex and no blood was present.  Your exposure to the virus was negligible.

the margin of error is very high on antibody tests - and hcv CAN be spread through sex - is doesnt have to be defined as an std - lolol - one blood cell to the other - oh no you didnt - blood cell you did not just enter here  stop and let me see your std papers or ill pop a cap in yo butt

a viral load test is the only way to confirm active infection - and by the time you find the cut - its too late baby- its not rattlesnake venom

I only got a tough hand-job, that's why I'm concern about it. But no hurts and no bleeding, I think it is ok.  But now I'm really confused about the ANTI HCV TEST and VIRAL LOAD TEST....

Take the negative results at face value and move on.  The margin of error is not very high with antibody tests, however, like any other test there can be false positive or false negative results.  It is an established fact that HCV can be transmitted sexually under certain circumstances and that errors on tests due occur, including PCR's. It appears that is the point being driven home by billm57 rather than reviewing the circumstances you have described regarding your risk.

In my opinion there is no need for a PCR according to your exposure unless you feel compelled to do so.  You were never in a high risk situation, but it's your call nathan and the whole point of this thread was to ask about your risk rate.  To reiterate my reply your risk was negligible.
