I am type 3 with very little liver damage. I chose to do treatment because of the success rate. I was undetected at 3 weeks. I did 24 weeks. I am now 9 months post and svr. I WOULDNT DO IT AGAIN if I knew then what I know now.
I am having terrible post side effects. I feel waaaay worse now then I did prior to tx. I am seeing every type of doctor there is an no one has any answers. My life is now focused on just finding an answer. Life as I knew it has changed.
Everyone is different, if hep is rapidly bringing your life to an end do everything you can. If you can wait and look for other answers I would. Most of the new drugs aren't for type 2 or  3 but there are over 200 clinical trials of new drugs going right now
Most hep c patients die with hep c not from hep c. Good luck with your decision.

starting treatment is a good decision but you also need to consult with your doctor about it as he may prefer waiting for new meds coming out in 2011 , condition of your liver will determine to a large extent whether to start immediately or wait for new meds , keep us updated

It is very true. Also milk thistle is not a treatment for HCV. It has no chance of curing the virus.
