HDL

what should a 65 year old woman's HDL be?  mine was just checked and it is 33

Your HDL is about the same as mine. It's low. Do you know what your total cholesterol is and what is your LDL cholesterol? How about your triglicerides (triglycerides)? Depending on how all these values stack up, you may need some sort of medical and/or lifestyle intervention such as statin drugs and/or dietary/exercise changes. You should also know that unless you have hepatitis C, you're probably in the wrong forum and that that most of us here are not doctors. I do believe MedHelp has a cardiac forum where a doctor can answer your question for a nominal fee.
