HELP!

Hi

Does anyone have an 800 number for Roche?

I am on treatment, pegasys and copegas.  I just took shot #17.  My left eye is now red and full of veins.  It hurts terribly too.  My 30 day pcr showed undetectable, but I am seriously thinking about stopping treatment.  My sight seems to be deteriorating and I have just about alienated everyone at work with my temper (not on antidepressants).  I did ask my gastro for antidepressants, but he referred me to a psychiatrist and I refused to go.  He seems to be new at this and reluctant about giving out those meds.  I guess he did the right thing, but the referral to me did not make a good picture for later reference.

I would like to hear from those who completed treatment with pegasys.  Is this eye business common, and is there hope of regaining sight loss after treatment.  I recently saw an opthomologist (3 weeks ago), by the way, and he says he did not see any signs of pending damage.

I am stage 1, grade 4 last tested 2 years ago.

HI again, I meant to say before....I've NEVER heard of G.I.'s prescribing AD's. With my hep c I have 5 doctor's.

#1. I have my primary care doc...who diagnoised my hepc.....

#2. I have my shrink...who prescribes my AD's and tension med.

#3. I have my pain specialist who prescribes my pain meds for fibromyalgia and tissue damage.

#4. I see my psychologist, who is in the same office as my pain doctor, and has studied hep for a long time...those 2 doctors confer w/ each other...to help me manage my pain to make my life have better quality...and

#5. My new "Dr.Wonderful"...he's a hepatologist who only sees hep patients, and he does clinical trials...even serves on a clinical panel w/ doctors from Duke University, does liver transplants and really loves and cares for his patients.

So see you have to have many different doctor's. One can't do it all!

I wish I'd had my "new" doctor the hepatologist from day one....I had a G.I. and I know now...he knew very little about hep. From now on, when I see  doctor, I know THE question to ask.....what would YOU do for YOUR FAMILY or FRIENDS???? Again God Bless us all, Cindee

BigEyes....hi, get back to your eye doctor and get to a "shrink"!!!! My shrink is great...she's truely my friend....I could not have done tx w/o the anti-depressants. Nothing to be ashamed of...if you're worried about that. It sometimes takes a few trys of different AD's, but dang....this is your life we're talking about! I've seen a shrink...the same one for years...probably 6 or 7. My Dad is bi-polar, and I've suffered from depression a long time. Depression is a disease too. Would you not take insulin, if you were a diabetic????

Maybe I mis-understood your post. If I did, I sincerely apologize.

We're not doctors here, but you do need to follow your doctor's advise. If you think your doctor is wrong, and you feel uncomfortable w/ him/her, find another one, but I'm willing to bet ya, anyone who has hep is going to be told to use AD's. Some ppl can, and have tolerated the meds w/o AD's, while on treatment, but I'm not one of them. After you see your doctor's check back and let us know.

Life is nothing w/o good health, and that's what we're all shooting for here on this forum. "shooting....lol...not intended to be a PUN!!!!" If my doctor's told me it would rid my body of hep c, by turning upside down and spinning on my head, I'd damn well do it!!!! BTW I did 48 wks of combo....and it was no joy ride....I was EVR early viral responder and was undectable through all 48 wks of tx, but as soon as I finished tx....@ my 4 months blood test...I had relapsed....I am Geno 1A. I said I'd NEVER do tx again, but I'm eating those words.....I just had my biopsy this past Tues. to see where I stand, before starting a clinical study (treatment). So here I go again.

I want to be well, I want this fatique GONE, I want to go back to work again, I want to get back to the YMCA...but mostly I want my healthy life back again. I miss all my former life things....working in my flower garden @ in my Mother's, skating, roller blading and going places with my family!!!!! I will fight for as long as it takes to help ME and other heppers to find new tx's for a healthier life style. I will be praying for you, Much love, Cindee

Everyone!!!!!!! WOW!!!! You all sound so good!!!!! THE OLD FORUM IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!! And this makes me soooooooo happy. You all make me want to put my arms around YOU ALL, and give YOU ALL GREAT BIG (((((((HUGS))))))). God Bless us all, I love you, Cindee   xoxoxoxoxoxo

I would see that eye doc again if you didn't have this problem when you saw him before.
You really should get on some AD's if you are having this many psych problems with all this. If you are too freaked out about it to see the psych Doc, maybe you can get some from your Primary Doc. Any doc can prescribe AD's.
These days using AD's does NOY attach any "stigma" to you. It is NOT a sign of weakness. This is a result of the medication and not any problem with your brain. It is common to see folks on AD's when they take certain kinds of medications.
Whats the alternative? Are you really considering throwing all your efforts with the tx away and letting the Dragon eat you up.....just because you are afraid of being seen to have taken AD's or having seen a Psych Doc????  COME ON! That is not REALLY what you want ....is it??
Suck it up and go get the help you need!!

Big Eyes.....yes, do call your doc as soon as you can.  Eye problems can be a sx, but as someone said, never take eye problems lightly.........

(hope this message goes through correctly........hope the original poster tries again.....

Okay...I am laughing at myself....I was just telling my hubby that my brain fog seems to be worse after tx...and he thinks I am joking.....(LOL).......

I had just visited a site that Derail posted and I was looking at a visual puzzle called "spinning circles"  It is an optical illusion, when you look at the picture and focus on a dot, the outer images that form a circle look like they spin....I think it hypnotized my brain....hahahahahhahahahah (Can I use that excuse and get away with it?????)

"Bad" computer Server service + Brain Fog = total confusion

Yes I also  have had red eyes and blurry vision often on tx. When I was worried or had unusual problems I did go to my opthomologist to make sure everything was ok. He was great and monitored me as needed.  Better safe than sorry. He did say once I had a sopt in my eye than was a little inflamed and had me get that checked again a month later along with a diabetes test. Another time I woke and rubbed my eyes which were itchy and there was blood. I went to him again and it seems I had one of those riba rash blister like bumps in my eye than burst when I rubbed it, again he said no problem and gave me a antibiotic drop for my eye to use for one week. It all cleared up. I use refresh eye moisurinzer and keep some around all the time. It's great for me. I tried visine but it seems to burn my eyes. As for my temper. The first month of tx were definately worse for me, over time either it subsided or I just got better at dealing with the mood swings. I did not take antidepressants but did try to spend quite time often, meaning time by myself. I still felt upset but yelling if someone was around just made the rage much worse and seemd to extend it for me.  Sorry your having such problems. I hope you can continue tx. It's hard to have all these sx but being proactive in dealing with them helps. Don't go to long suffering as there is probably something you can do about many of them. I wish you the best. LL
