HEPC Negative?/Open Tread

It has occurred to me that many achieve undetectability after treatment, but then later the virus comes back. That is a fact, we know that. That would lead to the conclusion that many people who are tested for HEPC and are negative, in actuality are positive, but at the time of the test are undetectable. If this is the case, then the blood supply that at this time is believed to be 99%

Hahahahaha  Oh Yeah....I was all over the small mammals while on my tx. Instead of being all pissed off at people...my rage and dementia was focused on the small mammals....ESPECIALLY  The Badger!! He was the source of ALL my problems then....or at least I thought so. My posts about him and the ensuing battles went on over many months and were really quite entertaining. Plus, it gave me something else to focus on. We all had fun with him....and the woodpeckers....and the gophers....and the groundhogs.....and, etc.
But you should see what I do to the BIG mammals....as in The COWS! Hahahahaha  I do have a "thing" for cow tippin !! Hahahaha
Get to SVR and I'll show ya what I mean.............

It's reassuring to know that _someone_ here is keeping a watchful eye on the small mammal scene....

I've seen that info posted before on some of the information sites. Thanks for bringing it up for those here.
Those tests are very new and their accuracy and significance is still in question. Since they only detect part of the hcv it can also be speculated that what they are looking at are simply the "left overs" for a successful Dragon Killing. There is no real evidence that it is replicating. If it was I would bet that it would most certainly be back to detectable levels after 5 years for gosh sakes.
These types of tests and information are best left to the research Geeks who thrive on speculation and theory. Me....I like to live in the world of Reality. For now, the reality is that if it's still gon and undetectable after 1 year post tx......You are CURED baby!! There is just too much real evidence....like real people.... supporting that now to be ignored. Many are approaching the 7-10 year marks for being undetectable after tx. I wonder how many years we will have to go before they nay-sayers will believe that we are really cured? Since hardly anybody ever relapses after a 1 yr post tx Pcr test, they have to wait a LONG time to be able to prove their theory.
Of course I can sympathize with this group of researchers and Doctors in this study group. They had little experience with the "Rodent-Like Creatures" used for their experiments.  I knew right away what their problem was.........The Damn WOODCHUCKS!! Yep....Plain as the nose on our faces. It's those Damn Woodchucks!! They are closely related to Beavers and "The Badger"!! and we ALL know what "those" critters are like. They have quite a history here. If those folks are trusting "anything" told to them by any Woodchuck, then their whole theory is flawed. Besides.....you know that all them woodchucks look alike. How do they know that some HBV contaminated woodchucks weren't sneaked into the "woodchuck Hotel" by some antagonistic Badger?? I'm sure the Beavers would have no problem creating a diversion long enough for that to happen easliy.
So, nope.....I just ain't buyin that research yet. Not until the woodchucks are completely out of it.

Ok.....It's gettin Wayyyyyyyy too HOT in this thread. If anyone is anywhere near here when you all go off at once it could be devastasting to their health. I think I'm goin back to school......Massage Therapy sounds like Big Business.

I used to work for a company in CA (Health Insurance) and once a month they would bring in a person that did Shiatsu (sp?) massage.....one would have to sign up for a time, etc.  It was a combination of accupuncture and deep tissue massage....and it was very painful to go through, but when the release came.....whew!!!!!!  Total heaven....I like how you described the technique....I also love your "combined therapy" tx......but I would probably die of sheer pleasure if I had all three at the same time.....teee hheeeeee.....(is it getting warm in here???) lol

Hey  Thanx!   yes, magnesium too.. actually used to take lots of it coz of my asthma.. Calcium, Potassium, magnesium, and Vit D, C, and E.. all seem to play a big part in cell metabolism and how  everything works..  I have trouble swallowing dry round pills past a certain size, as well as huge caps.., so have not been taking VitC and magnesium like I should..going to switch to powdered or liq C.. and  still looking for an easier form of mag... found an affordable powered C that mixes with whatever , thru Puritan.com..but still searching before I make final decision..Wally World has flavored C powdered , but some of those flavors are too strong..
Thanx all..  I wondered how many have this problem of the cramps, coz haven't seen too many bring it up..
have a good Sunday!!!!

Oh you poor baby!  The pain is excruciating from this.   I had an episode last fall that woke me up screaming.  Like you I hit the internet and found some pretty convincing information about muscle spasms and magnesium depletion, so I started taking magnesium and it does the job.   Seems to prevent episodes from occurring.   I've found it more effective than either calcium or potassium supplements.  I hope you find  relief from this soon.

Bananas and avacados! My potassium went way down during tx. and I had those cramps too. When I started eating bananas and avacodos, they eased up quite a bit.   Joni

Yikes...and ouch!  I know what you mean.  Mine felt like quick jab, stabs from a knife going all the way into the bone....and I would try to "stretch" out of my joints to "pop" out the pain.....of course, that never really worked well.  I would get into a hot shower or tub at that point.  Sometimes I used my heating pad.  When my shoulder blades felt that way and my hubby was not available for a back rub, I took a tennis ball and would lye down with that pressure pressing into the pain (you can move and the ball will give you a massage)  I found that if I applied pressure (pain) to the pain for a few seconds then "released" the pressue point, the area felt better.  It sounds weird, but it worked.  This is a form of an ancient massage therapy using touch and pressure, but I cannot remember the name of it right now.

about these@#*^%#@ CRAMPS!!!!!!
I have a very high tolerance for pain.. but I swear to all that's holy.. these massive, all the way to the bone cramps are killing me!!  soemtimes my toes go crazy in spasms, or my fingers,, or hands cramp up.. and the leg cramps..OMG!!! it will start as a litrle twinge, then BAM!!  soemtimes just one spot, soemtimes it goes from one spot to another.. sometimes the whole leg is gripped in EXCRUTIATING PAIN... "give me a machete and let me get rid of this thing" kind of pain!  sometimes it is a couple minutes, sometimes it lasts for HOURS,.. I DO NOT CRY easily.. but this @#%@ HURTS!!  and nothing helps...if I had someone here to rub or massage the area when it happens it might..I don't know.. but all I can do is try to grab and press as hard as I can on everyspot that hurts..and I don't have that many hands!!!
I Know about potassium and calcium levels,  that is not the problem..  I am guessing that it's toxins from slow liver function?  anyone have  this happen?? anjyone have any bright ideas? I have tried what I know to do, even went online awhile back to make sure I take the right vitamins/minerals to help with this..  IDEAS anyone?????  Thanx!!!

haha I knew you were.....But,,,you said,, would you be comfortable receiving blood for you or your family in case of emergency,,,And I guess all we can do in situations like that is trust Red Cross for the testing because I think that it would be pretty much eliminated now with their testing.  Before 1991,,,yes,,,in fact my husband had blood transfusion in 78 soooo...

The 2 tests are completly different.  The test that the blood bank uses is an antibody test.  So if your body is producing the antibodies to fight hep c virus,,then you have it and will always have it in your bloodstream even if viral is undetectable.  The virus test that is given after you have been diagnosed is to see how much virus you have in your bloodstream at that time.  So we will never give blood even after clearing the virus because will always test postive for hep c at blood bank.

Actually, I was not thinking so much about those who were previously infected and cleared. I was thinking about the general public donating blood at any time. The undetectable classification simply means that the virus is low enough that it can not be detected. It doesn

Do you think that if we are clear during 3, 6 and 12 and then virus shows positive again say....3month post...We got reinfected or do you think that there is a viral load still lingering under maybe 50 or 5 that starts reproducing again?  My dr told me at one time if virus is still lingering that once meds are put down,,,,,something like every 6 hours it doubles..

I don't know about health insurance, but heard on here several months ago, that after 5 yrs. SVR, you can purchase life insurance.  Joni

1. We will always have the antibodies and that is what they check for in blood donations.
2. Current research is saying that the virus doesn't "come back" that in most probability, people re-infect.      Joni

right on target...frighteningly so darlin.....HOWEVER, generally speaking, someone just 3 to 6 months post treatment wouldn't likely be donating blood...even a year later, because i believe the blood donor forms also ask if you have ever HAD any of the following blah blah blah, and so on, and really anyone who has endured this delightful treatment, would not likely ever be mis leading about it, when it came to others safety...but whats in place to truely ensure that none slips through the cracks? i think it highly unlikely, but not impossible.

another question along the same line....does anyone know if once we are 'undectectable' can we than apply for additional insurance policies etc, or does the same thing apply i wonder...if they ask if you have any of the following diseases, or if it states have you ever HAD any of the following...hummmm
