HGB after transfusion

On saturday my HGB was 8, had transfusion, today's labs give me a 9.7.  Doc won't increase procrit to 60,000.  Wants me to reduce riba to 400 per day.  Neupogin 1x week with this weeks peg dose at 90.  Not happy.

I remember the feeling. If it helps, I've been on 90 peg for weeks and still UND. Does procrit work? I've waited n am gonna get some. I hope I get good results.
Seems like I went from 7 to 11 after 3 units. Eating more raisins now. Haha!
How many weeks do u have left? My dr keeps reminding me they will tweak tx Rx and rescue drugs to keep me hanging in there for 32 more weeks. Do u trust ur dr? Sounds like they're doing the same w you. SVR. That's all I want. Keep me on tx...right? Xoxo Karen :)

I thought they already agreed to the 2x neup. I don't blame you for being unhappy. I hope your strong reaction to the drugs means this is going to work for you. Your putting up a great fight under difficult conditions.

Dave, I can't fight anymore.  I've thought about changing docs but won't for now.  

Karen: Rasins?  I trust my docs as they are most experienced with treatment of hep C.  I go to Mayo Clinic that did all the trails.  I think they are sort of conservative. 11 weeks to go.  I'm sure they will increase my dosage. They always do once I improve. I just thought a transfusion would do more, but I could feel myself drop my HGB 2 days after the transfusion.  Now I look like a ghost again.  But much better than I was at 8 HGB. Able to take dog on long walk/trot in morning.

As far as I understand, it's not dangerous until you go over 12...which you are a long way from I cannot understand why he wouldn't just up it a little bit for you. I was on 40,000 x 2 and never really got over 10.5.........

don't overdo it!!! i did and it didn't work....i was also not that happy after my transfusion...went up to 9.3.....and felt ok but not great...had a head ache for a few days...i'm doing better now with my hgb low...i just know i can't do much...still only out of bed maybe 6 hours a day..on week 16....i have so many sx..my hair is really falling out now...sores ...all kinds of stuff...but i'm hanging in there...doing 1000 riba and 180 interferon...i was brought down to no riba twice...once for 10 days once for 4 days...and at 400 riba a couple times....but not much...good luck...i now feel as long as i'm on the riba i'll have low hgb even with 60000 procrit a week....good luck...billy
