IVE RESENTLY BEEN HAVING STABBING PAIN ON MY RIGHT SIDE AND ENEN ON MY LEFT. IS THAT NORMALNormal saline flush WITH HEP C. AND MY VIRAL COUNT WAS 6 MILL 570 THOUSAND. WHAT DO YOU THINK.
I agree with most of your anatomy but actually the liver crosses over and the tip is onthe left side. Someone, I think Mike Simon pointed this out to me and I looked it up in an old anatomy book to prove I was right. Actually, I was wrong as usual!
Kwp: I think it's not unsual to have pain in those areas, I have felt that myself. Actually, my viral load is und now, and I still get pain in both areas. It could be something I ate or it could be the capsule that surrounds my liver. Only a dr and further testing would be able to let you know for sure what's causing the pain.

I wanted to reply to those with liver pain. As an RN (disabled) I to experience what we call liver pain. I also have heard that our livers do not acturally feel pain. (Thank goodness) I do know the tissue around the liver does, and referred pain is a medical fact.
When my liver swells, I hurt, for me I believe it is because I a 5ft3 and I have a short waist. My liver hides out in my ribs. When my liver pushes my ribs it is like a band of pain reaching from my stomach area, accross my liver, and my back and then an unbearable back pain. I believe the ribs are cauing alot of this. That is why I eat so little, I rest alot, and try not to aggrevate my liver into swelling, I have been gluten free 2.5 yr and that helps. Studies show that the people who live the longest are those that eat the least, limit meat, and eat healthy. I know when my liver is mad. And, I listen. I usually will basically stop eating, drink a lot of fluid/teas. Liver protecting supplements, Green drinks, protein drinks, and a hole lot of rest helps. I have heard that they actually can take rib/s out if it gets real bad, but I am not sure of that so I will take any advice.TY Dejavu
