Its unpredictable. I'd cut it short.

I also am in my sixth month of treatment, hair falling out so I just had it cut & it is approximately 2 inches long.  I am very o.k. with it.  If I get to point of shaving my head, I will wear scarves and apply temporary tatoos to the baldness and will have fun shocking my conservative kids!!!

I lost about 75%.  Went on ebay and got some great wigs and now it looks like I have better hair then I've ever had before.....nobody realizes it's not real.

It made me feel SO much better about myself and saves me more time in the morning then I'd imagined it could!

10 months post treatment and it's growing back great.  I did cut most of it off to about two inches short and now it's past my shoulders AND I've gotten all the dead ends from treatment cut off.

Remember - there IS life after treatment.   :)

I'm at week 54.  Cut hair about 6 months ago.  Texture has changed from curly/wavy/full to fine and thinning and straight.

I'm beginning to get the dome effect and hoping that I can get through the next 5 months without having to buy a wig or two.

From what I've read, it seems most hair loss is temporary and should grow back after finishing TX.

i hope so!  :)

Did your hair grow back the same texture or did it change.  I have really curly hair, and am wondering if I lose a lot of hair on treatment if it will grow back the same as it was before treatment or will it grow back straight?

By the way, that you so much for all of your advice and words of hope that you give to everyone here.  I have been reading this forum daily since diagnosed in October.  Your words of encouragement have truly helped feel better about all this.

I hate to rush my life away, but I'll be glad when this nighmare is over.  I will begin treatment in February.

I'm about three months in.  I have a HUGE head of thick hair, and I shed all over the place anyway, same thing now.  I figure though in another three months or so is when I'll really lose it.  It's quite long.  If it wasn't so color treated I'd cut if for locks of love or one of those organizations prior to starting to lose it so it would go to some use, but I don't think they take quadruple times infinite processed hair.

It's really the biggest pain of all (both literally and figuratively) to try to do anything with my hair right now that I asked my son the other day how he'd feel if I just went with dred locks - which is how my hair looks most of the time anyway because it hurts too much to brush it out.  He didn't really answer in the affirmative if you call shaking the head from side to side violently and grunting a negative response, so unless someone hires a stylist for me, I'm kind of looking forward to just losing the hair entirely and being able to throwing a scarf on.

In fact, I could go buy some damn scarves now and wear them and forego any haircare from here on out.  People would just probably "assume" my hair was starting to fall out from the chemo but be too afraid to ask.  Sounds like an excellent holiday hairstyle plan to me....-

Well, I haven't had huge amounts of hair loss and I've been on TX 13 months.

Maybe just cutting it short would help?  It would also make it easier to manage and may result in less hair loss overall.  The less you fiddle with your hair, the better, and that includes shampooing, brushing, hair products, etc.

I'd hate to see you shave your hair off completely if you don't have to.  Besides, I bet you'd look fantastic with a shorter style.

My hair hurts now....i mean it really hurts to even touch it lol....that sounds funny but its so true. I go outside now and let it come out so at least the birds can build a nest with it....why waste it? lol
