Harvoni 3 weeks tomorrow

One day shy of 3 weeks now on Harvoni. Sailing along pretty well. Some fairly mild stomach aches here and there. I have had some pretty bad headaches the last 3 or 4 days, but I think it is sinus pressure related. I get those really bad this time of year anyway. I might normally get a steroid shot to clear it up, but for now I am going to try and tough it out and hope they subside. For some reason, my doctor does not require labs until 4 weeks. This whole process is an emotional roller-coaster ride. First it was a fight to get Harvoni (which I was certain I had lost), then it was the fear of possible side effects. Now that I have crossed both of those barriers (at least so far on the side effects), I fight back fear every day it will not be a sustained cure. I will continue to press on and pray for good news for the next few weeks and months, for myself and everyone else going through this.

Hi Mike. I really had to jump in to make a suggestion.
The mind/brain is the most powerful organ in our bodies and often aren't recognized as being so amazingly important when dealing with illness.  Study after studies have been done particularly with cancer patients regarding why having a positive attitude relates to a better outcome. This is not hypothetical but rather a proven fact.
When we approach Tx, having a positive outlook increases our immune system.  When fighting illness, such as this Hep C virus, you want to create an environment in which your body fights along with the meds.  If on the other hand you feel defeated and say to yourself, "This won't work" you may writing your own ending.  It's been said over and over and over "We become what we think about"!
Your attitude has everything to do with whether you reach your desired goal.
Instead of being fearful of failing, put all your energy into taking down this horrible disease.  Eat healthy, start moving to maintain proper weight, drink that water, and most importantly believe in yourself and your body's ability to clear yourself of this virus.
Trust me, it absolutely will work.

Just wanted to say - Drink your water - and concentrate on other, non-related things.

Water might help on the headaches, but I understand the sinus problems a havee that problem, also.

Thinking sbout other things - literally getting on with your life, will help reduce the stess, the fear, of failure.  You are doing all you can there, worrying won't help, but a positive, upbeat attitude not only makes you feel better in your thinking, it releases endorphins into your system, which is like a dose of medicine itself!

Hang in there, and keep on keeping on....won't be long now!

On to SVR, dragon Warrior!
