Has anyone cured with 8 weeks Harvoni

Just wondering if there are any who have reached SVR with 8 weeks.

The kinds of things you are concerned about are the same whether you are doing Harvoni or Viekira Pak.

P.S. And don't forget that what happens in the real world is often very different than what happens in a clinical trial where patients are hand-picked for success. It takes some of us much longer to reach undetected.

I was detected at 4 weeks on Viekira Pak and went on to SVR. 4 weeks is not a requirement for SVR and neither is 8 weeks. Some people are even detected at end of treatment and still go on to SVR. Try not to worry too much. Early Rapid Response is no longer meaningful with the new DAA's.

Hi again,
I just posted on your other thread. While KoKo is right in reporting seen data, 'MOST  people @ 4wks) is a question I have. I have seen many low(like you) but not undetected at 4 weeks, to go on to be NOT detected at next PCR RNA. I was detected @ 4 weeks @ 550 by 8 I was NOT DETECTED & am now 8 wks post EOT> NOT DETECTED & very hopeful :-) see my numbers on your other thread~ Randy

I think there is some confusion over the use of terms.
"8 weeks and have cured "
There is no thing as cured at 8 weeks. Cured is 12 weeks after treatment ends or EOT and SVR12. For others they consider themselves cured at SVR24. Plus I'm not sure what cocktail your are referring to. You could be more specific? Harvoni? (too soon to tell) S/O?

Perhaps you mean 8 weeks that are undetected? These new drugs make most people in treatment go undetected at 4 weeks.

This is Millie.

I was on Harvoni for 8 weeks.  Started in October 20th.. Insurance would only cover 2 months.

I am still Not-Detected. See dr. next week.  So I am assuming that if I am not dected through June 20th - I have reached SVR.

It's almost unreal.

Here's a link that shows a 94% SVR rate from a Harvoni trial:

I'm going to be starting on an 8 week duration very soon.
