Seems like everything is about inflammation these days. Maybe we come up with a new condition....how about "everypartofmybodyinflammationitis?"
Cheers and hope you feel better soon!
is he off tx. now or just taking a break? did he respond?
many of us with liver disease also have gallstones. around christmas we may eat more fat which for me can cause pain around liver area or nausea. when i get it i try to adhere to a strict diet avoiding saturated fats. even cut back on the "good oils" for a few days. just my .02 worth.
Soory, no, not that I know of or have read about. LL
We are off to the hospital for a ultrasound scan. I think it is gallbladder, too...after doing a lot of reading.
Last time he was checked he was hep free...he is doing bloodwork today. I'll keep you posted.
Lots of Love to you All,
Your,
Shebee
Is it cholecystitis (inflamamation of the gallbladder)?
I'm really glad this topic came up. I've been having upper right quadrant pain off and on for years. It's gotten worse since I finished tx on 10/20. Never thought it could be from gallstones or gallbladder inflammation, just thought it was the hep. I'm going to call my GI and see about getting my gallbladder tested : )
I just found this description of gallbladder symptoms:
"The most common symptom of gallstones is abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen. The pain is often described as a continuous, dull ache. It usually is moderate but occasionally can be quite severe.
The pain may:
- Develop suddenly and radiate to the center of the upper abdomen (epigastric area) or to the right upper back or shoulder blade. It's usually hard to become comfortable; moving around does not make the pain go away.
- Prevent you from taking normal or deep breaths.
Last 15 minutes to 24 hours; 1 to 5 hours of continuous pain is common.
- Begin at night and be severe enough to wake you. It may or may not occur after meals."
ok...hubby is better. I have researched and decided that it is his gallbladder. TOO Much JUNK FOOD. The ultrasound looked perfectly normal. (THANK GOD!!!)
He is going to do a liver flush...in moderation. I'll let you know if that helps. However...no bad fats for him! LOL!
Lecithin (spell????) help with the gallbladder...Just one more pill.
P.S. He did blood work and heptimax. Wouldn't it be great if he were hep free?????...and stayed that way?
Best wishes to you all..
I'll keep you posted,
Your,
Shebee
What about aching/pain/discomfort in mid-abdomen, just under navel that comes and goes. Is this related in any way?
I finally figured out how to spell it! I have been prone to autoimmune problems with HCV and beleive this is part of it. As you can see there are other HCV associated problems with this dx. LL
What is costochondritis?
Costochondritis is a common form of inflammation of the cartilage where ribs attach to the breast bone, the sternum. The inflammation can involve multiple cartilage areas on both sides of the sternum but usually is on one side only.
The cause(s) of costochondritis is(are) not known and may involve several factors. Possible causes include heredity (genetic predisposition), viruses, and trauma (injury).
Costochondritis can be an independent condition by itself or sometimes be a feature of a more widespread disorder. Examples of illnesses that can feature costochondritis include fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, reactive arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease (such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease
Yes I had pain on my right around to my back. It was dx as Choncondritis??? I'll have to look it up to be exact on the spelling. There is someone here who knows what it is so I hope they will chime in. I just can't remmeber who. Sorry. It's to do with inflamation. Of coarse I can't tell you if it's the same. I never had it until tx. It started on the right side for quite some time then was on the left also and got very sensative to touch in the back area. I am off tx and it is gone now but I stopped all activities to let it heal. LL
Interesting that you should mention pain on the right rib cage. I've been having the same thing, but i'm not on any treatment, so I couldn't answer your question.
Does he still have his gallbladder??
try not to worry too much.Go to the hospital
sometimes I get sore
just from lying around
on this tx health and happiness
