Have you had your vaccine for hep a and hep b?

Have you had your vaccine for hep a and hep b?

The doc's have recommended that I get vaccinated for A & B, since I show no antibodies for either.  I was told being exposed to someone with a or b would fry my liver leaving no hope.  First, I am not a big fan of vaccines.  Second, through the knowledge of my homeopathic group and much reading - there appears to be a link between multiple sclerosis and the B vaccine.  Any comments...Also, any known side affects after getting the vaccine...Thanks K

3 of them yup no problem at all.  It's good advice to have them. If your liver were to be assaulted with yet another form of Hep right now, I can't imagine the dire consequences.

I had to have hep. B shots twice. It didn't take the first time. I didn't need hep. A shots because I had the illness from Mexico.
All the doctors said it was important to get these immunizations when you have HCV.

Hubby and I had them a few years ago, I believe they call them twin rix or something. You really should get them, one less thing to worry about.

I started my Hep B vaccines on tx, but the anemia hit and I called the dr. and said, "do I hav to come in now? I feel awful!". They said not to worry. Perhaps I should get them now, but after that flu shot the day before Thanksgiving, I am not looking forward to vaccines. BTW although I was tested fro Hep B, I need MORE tests to be sure according to CPMC and HR. On tx the B could be hiding...

The way my doctor explained it is if you have HepC you don't want another one piggy backing onto it.
I had my duo shots too.

That's practically the first thing my Doc prescribed.  I had them both first week of tx.

You know you have to go thru a series of those shots , right ?

I had the first 2 of the Hep A and Hep B, have to go back later in the year for the next series of both.  I started them before treatment as well.

I had mine before I was ever diagnosed w/hepc (for travel purposes).  There was no problem whatsoever.

No sides here from the series.  The meningitis thing with the Hep B vaccine has been found to be unrelated.  If you have Hep C, you definitely need to vaccinate against A & B.  They are preventable, and you sure don't want a case of either on top of a case of chronic Hep.  Best of luck .  Go get em!

My doc said the Hep A vaccine was a one time thing but I had to go back in two months for a second injection for Hep B.

Did you hear something different?

Not to butt in, but there is a series of three shots for A & B combined. The first one, then I believe it is 30 days later, than 6 months later (one shot with both combined). Than your done.
