Help for liver transplant

I am a pastor and one of my parishioners needs a liver transplant. She  has been accepted into a transplant program at the Medical University of SC. She is an indigent person and although the expenses for her transplant are covered ,she needs to raise $2500.00 for housing fee while she is recovering. My question is are there any agencies to help her ?

why don't the church or the other parishioners do a local fundraiser? it is not that much money and should be easy to raise.

best of luck

I don't know if the American Liver Foundation has funds available or not; they might be a place to begin though:

http://www.liverfoundation.org/contact/programsandsupport/

They also maintain a helpline: 1-800-465-4837

If they can't help directly, they might have some thoughts to share. And check back here too; others may stop by with thoughts and ideas. Thanks for caring, and good luck to your parishioner--
