Hep C and staph infections?

My husband was told he has Hep C by his dr a few days ago. We have no idea how long he has been infected with it. But, for the last year+, he has been getting staph infetions. Not MRSA, just regular staph infections. Anyone have any idea if the Hep could be causing the staph? We are setting him up with a hepatologist in the  next week, but are curious about this now.

i have to wonder if he drinks....i was a drinker with hep and got all kinds of infections ..i didn't know i had hep and didn't know i was an alcoholic...i kept getting tested for blood sugar problems..but my blood sugar was fine.....i had thrush that would come and go..that gave me rough white spots on the roof of my mounth..that was disgusting..and i got infections on my legs ..on my shins...that just wouldn't go away...like the skin was melting away..bleeding a lot...wouldn't heal... since i stopped drinking over time thats all gone away...i still have some symptoms though..they come and go...exercise ...heart rate stuff seems to help a lot...he sould get more tests...a biopsy ..all that....how old is he ? .............good luck....billy
