Hep c Geno 1b Dental work?

I am about to start my therapy for Hep C and was told if I had dental work to do I should do it now.  If I start any dental work it would set back my start time for therapy.  Anyone had dental problems or dental work prior to therapy?  I'm so nervous right now, not sure how it's going to effect me.  I have a stress test scheduled prior to therapy also.  Any info?

I had one of my wisdom teeth surgecally removed when I was in month 6 of treatment. I did lose some blood and later my CBC looked a little bit scary for a month. Since there is a good chance you will become anemic during tx, it's better to get any serious dental work done before the tx. A month ago I also had to replace a filling, but there was no problems with my blood work after that.

Wow- this is good info. I am halfway through my treatment, and I scheduled my wisdom teeth to be removed in 3 weeks.  I am going to be rescheduling!

Its the possiblity of infection i think is the main thing id be concerned about.ID hold off on any surgery if it were me

I agree with Rockerforlife as for the risk of infection. Good point, since our immune systems get revamped during tx.
Also, forgot to mention, I noticed that on tx my healing time after dental work was a lot longer, it took me twice as much time to heal after tooth extraction than it would normally take.
