Hep c. from barber shop,

Hi everyone. last time I want to the barber shop and he cut me   a bit when he was triming my beard with an electronic machine a bit of blood came out, that am risk of hep c? I had a test negative after 10 weeks, that i need more test?

Sorry for my inexperienced, so how can dry blood enter the blood stream? If just touching no risk? Thanks so much.

Results may be reliable at 10 weeks but for those with compromised immune systems for example for people I fected with HIV it is possible to take up to 6 months for antibodies to reach detectable levels so to totally ensure reliable results it can take up to 6 months.

However if you did not experience blood to blood contact you are not at risk. Hep c infected blood must enter your blood stream to transmit hep c
What country did this occur? Does the barber not clean their equipment between customers? Also the electric trimmers would have to have cut someone who is currently infected with hep c and in the US that is only about 1% of the population.

Even  in the situation where he healthcare worker experiences an accidental needlestick involving a patient with known hepatitis C the risk of transmission in that circumstance is only about 1.8% so you can see that your risk would be appreciably that much lower.

Very low risk if concerned wait6 months to be entirely confident in results
