Hep c triple medication treatment

I am early stage 4 and stated treatment on July 20th. My wbc is low and so is rbc, platelets low also. I had a lab review and it said pancytopenia, leukopenia, also mild anemia with anisocytosis, mild poikilocytosis, occ ovalocytes, occ target cells and thrombocytopnia. My question is will this all go away when meds are stopped? Good news is my platelets have come up from 14,000 to 35,000.

I'm genotype 1b and on triple tx (24 wks).  I finished the incivek and have 10 wks left of ribavirin and peg interferon.  I'm still at full 180 mcg peg interferon but down to 400 mg ribavirin.  I'm on procrit now so hoping to go up in ribavirin next week.  Doctor feels 600 mg should be okay for me.  She said because I'm anemic, it shows that I'm at a good level of ribavirin, although I wish it were more.  Hopefully next week I can go back up.  I've been undetected since week 3 (which is when they lowered my ribavirin).  I did therapy about 8 yrs ago and was a relapser so hoping this time works.  Hoping for the CURE!
Good luck to you.

My hcv is unquanitainable, which they consider negative for virus. I am done with the incivek. And am on only half the shot 90 ml a week and only 2 rebaviren in the morning and 1 in the evening. Had to be taken off the shot for 2 weeks because of the platelet counts. Still negative. I did therapy 11 yrs ago and was a non responder. I am type 1 a.

It would be helpful to know what your Hgb and ANC is. The  leukopenia, is a low white blood cell count however it would be more helpful to know what your Absolute Neutrophil Count (ANC) is. In general Interferon can lower WBC & ANC and the protease inhibitor and Ribavarin  have the potential to lower your Hgb (haemoglobin). I read elsewhere on the forum that mild anaemia (Grade 1) is an Hgb level of at least 10 g/dL, Isw yours lower than that?

I do know sometimes CBCs specify certain traits of red and white blood cells when values change as we progress during treatment.. When my Hgb was low and my Procrit was not at a therapeutic range I frequently had
Polychromasia present
Elliptocytes present
Few schistocytes

I never really posted about this. I just read about it on some lab test web site. Here is a link:
http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/blood-smear/details/

As the link shows, Poikilocytosis means a variation in the shape of the red blood cell.  ***These are just canned definitions with no context. You might want to ask about the implications of these terms since being stage 4 could indicate something that might not apply to lesser stages of fibrosis.*** MY doctor told me that when I am off the treatment meds that my blood values would gradually rebound. Instead those terms went away when my Procrit was increased.

Oh, and here is a table:

I am unable to access your other posts so all I have to go by is what is in this current post. You are on about week 20 (or so). Were you UND in week 4 and is this your first time treating? I suppose I am curious since your platelets did seem rather low. I am glad they rebounded a little.

There is a lot of good insight here on the forum so be sure to check back when those with more experience and wisdom have the opportunity to respond with perhaps more helpful information.

Best of luck and Hang in there!!
