still dancing on top of the huge speakers in the club! lmao. Where did this come from?
this thread is 5 yrs old....you may want to start your own question and give more information about what you are asking.
do youhave Hep c?
what tests did you take, what exactly does your lab report say?
What does the code 794.8 mean
Hi, I haven't had any type of scan done yet. The test above is the only one done so far. FLguy, what does 794.8 mean?
Thank you for all the responses. I will try not to worry too much. :O) ~Brenda
heeheeheee thanks for the laughs... I'm also laughing at the image of my first dr. working on her stock portfolio. haha
In doc code I believe that 794.8 means 'abnormal liver scan'. That's why the questions about any scanning tests. Again, for matters that are purely medical - the docs are the ones to give you correct answers.
Will people *never* learn to bind the hind legs? Sheesh!
Good luck. Don't make youself too crazy about this stuff. The wheels in the medical world seem to move very slowly at the times we want them to move their fastest. And, don't rely on the infomation I gave you. After all, I thought Oh Great's lump was a gerbil that got out of control.
I understand. My worries are eased & that's really what I wanted at this point until I can speak with my Dr. again. Thank you for your time & help, greatly! This is a neat place! ~Brenda
If you post a reply to the above comment I will tell you what 794.8 means.
To get back to that scan question...If they did do a scan of some type (ultrasound, sonogram, ct scan, mri - whatever) did you see a record of that scan come out of the machine (like an image, pictures, paper roll etc)?. Not that you looked at what was on the paper, just if a piece of paper came out?If yes, then a GUESS would be that SSG-GI MIGHT mean System Generated Graph - Gastro Intestinal. Remember this is the internet, you have little reason to rely on information you read here. See your doctor with questions, that's why thet make the big bucks.
Did they do a 'scan' of any type yet? Like an ultrasound or a CT scan of your abdoment area?
It's certainly understandable that you would be alarmed. While it's possible that the raised LFT's could be caused by a chronic HCV infection, they could also stem from some more benign and transient source. Try to relax and not borrow worries prematurely. Easier said than done though, huh?
Even if it proves to be Hep C, that is not the end of the world. It may be that you can avoid treatment for a long while, or maybe you'll need to treat it soon. Nearly everyone here either has or has had Hep C, and it isn't doom and gloom.
You might want to accelerate the process by requesting a Hep C test now. Normally they would first test for the antibody, then assuming that's positive, follow up with more specific tests. You don't need a liver specialist (hepatologist) to get that done.
I googled your 'SGG GI' thing, and low and behold I got a couple <a href="http://www.google.com/finance?q=SGG+GI">stock quotes</a>. Could it be your doc was managing his portfolio while browsing your chart, LOL?
