Hepatitis B Virus HBs Ag Positive

Hepatitis B Virus HBs Ag Positive

I am 18 years old. I have done a blood test on 22 November 2007 where I have been found HBs Ag Positive. Later on the blood test of HBe Ag has been done and found negative. My SGPT test is also found within normal range. Result of my USG of Hepatobiliary system is also normal. Is there any chance to become my HBs Ag negative. If you kindly advise for necessary treatment.

If your HBsAb is positive, it likely means that you cleared a past HepB infection.  Rule of thumb is that HBsAg negative means you don't have HepB.  HBsAb positive means that you are immuned to HepB.  Good luck.

Did faruk not write " I have been found HBs Ag Positive...." ? What was found neg was his eAg, not his HBsAB.
So this means he is not  surface antibody, but surface antigen positive and has possibly some chrionic HBV disease, depending on viral load and LFTs. The exact number of the SGPT  result would be of interest.

Thanks for pointing that out.  You're right of course.  Faruk wrote "HB e Ag has been done and found negative."  I mistakenly read that as HB s Ag.  I need to be more careful.

HR: I posted a question for you that I hope you could offer some feedback.  Thanks.

My Mother died this  past  Sunday  and  the autopsy showed that  she has  had the  following  for  15-20 yrs.(untreated) .The  results said  the  following....
Hep B    core, total antibodies(positive)
Hep C    virus antibodies positive
HTLV-1 and 2 and  antibodies   qual positive (abnormal)
Our  family  is  having  a  hard time  understanding  all this. Have  we  been  at  risk over the  past  20 of  contracting  this  from her. We  are  going  to be  tested just  to be  on the  safe  side.
