Hepatitis C by needle!!

Dear All,

I have son aged 3 years and 2 nephews aged 3 years, 2 weeks back they were playing in backyard and they found a drip in Trash Bin lying under sun heat for 16 to 17 hours but it was covered by few plastic wastes around and that drip was used by my son's grandmother who has Hepatitis C but her SGBT is normal and virus is inactive. So my son and nephews picked up that drip and gave minor scratches to each other by its needle. We suddenly caught them and forced their scratches with hand to get their blood out so that virus might get out as well if inside and washed their scratch with spirit thoroughly. When we consulted the doctor of relevant field so he said 97% people do not get infected this way but 3% might get. So he suggested for 2 tests by ICT method, one after 1 week and other after one month. I am so much worried about my son , he is just 3 years old and my nephews too. Please pray fro them and suggest me as well that what should I do. I am so much worried, I even cannot focus on my work at office. Please pray for them that they do not get infected.

My Heart goes out to you. It doesn’t matter what part of the World you live in, Kids will be Kids. When you said the Virus is inactive, I am assuming that means undetectable. If it does, that is a plus. Not that it really matters at this point but, here in The U.S. Bio-Hazardous Waste has to be properly disposed of to prevent such things from happening. The following is an excerpt from tests conducted recently.You say the needle was in the hot sun for nearly a day,so hopfully their was no remaining virus.



Exposed cell cultures showed varying levels of HCV inactivity.
The likelihood of finding infectious virus in low-volume syringes decreased rapidly:
   No remaining viable virus after 1 day in syringes stored at 98ºF;
No viable virus after 3 days in syringes stored at 72ºF;
No viable virus after 7 days in syringes stored at 40ºF.

Please do let us know but keep your chin up.  If the children test positive and that is a big " IF,"  the young ones have  a much better chance of clearing the virus on their own than we old folks.

I want you to pray they dont get the virus. young or old this virus remains for life time. So that is why i am worried that in this age when they have not even seen the world or understood it they are just 3 years old. That thing kills me.
