Hepatitis C from rimjob

I'm a bit nervous because I recently gave my girlfriend a rimjob. I've researched a little and apparently it is possible to get Hepatitis C from rimming, but one thing isn't clear: am I only at risk if my partner was carrying Hepatitis C from the start? Say my partner didn't have hepatitis C, would that remove the risk completely?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thank you for the answer.

I looked around this subforum some more and found a lot of people struggling with Hepatitis C. I'd like to wish everyone good luck and the strength to carry on. I don't think I can imagine the struggle some people here face day to day, but never the less the will to continue is present.

You can't catch someting that is not there to catch.

Hepatitis C is spread by blood to blood contact.

Maybe you are thinking about hepatitis A.

Here is a link from the CDC Hepatitis A FAQs for the Public:
http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/A/aFAQ.htm#spread

from the link:

"Hepatitis A is usually spread when the Hepatitis A virus is taken in by mouth from contact with objects, food, or drinks contaminated by the feces (or stool) of an infected person."

Key word - infected person
