Hepatitis C that have stopped/finished treatment

I am interested in other possible symptoms/side affects after stopping treatment.  Also interested in if anyone has or know of acquiring pancreatitis after treatment for Hep C completed.

First of all I want to apologize for not getting back to you sooner.  Unless I did respond and do not remember.  I am not on drugs or alcohol.  (21 years sober)  I rec'd my HCV from a needle stick at work.  The first time I am unsure of genotype.  This last time it was 1a.  i was on tx for about 5months the first time, was told I was my lab had showed successful tx. so was stopped.  I was on tx this time 46 weeks.  I believve I put more info about me in my journal.  I appreciate your answer.  I ended up with pancreatitis, hospitalized for 6 days.  I had 2 doctors tell me it was most likely from tx.  I had 2 more doctors and 1 PA say it wasn't related.  I was interested in information on it to see if anyone has either experienced this after tx or if they knew of resources.  I missed 2 1/2 weeks of any type od work.  L & I won't pay for loss of wages as the PA said non related to injury.  At this point have decided it wasn't worth the energy.  Now am just a little curious. I am a little dissappointed HCV returned.  I am tryying to be positive but it is hard at times.  I now have pneumoia and am on 2 antibiotics.  Other then being tired I seem to not have any significant sx of the HCV at this time.  I also have neuropathy and have had it since March while still on tx.  My biggest issue is my horrible brain fog.  I lost my car one day, could not find my doctors office I have been going to over 20 years, and then to top it off I could not even remember what I had done that day.  I know this particular situations are not that abnormal.  Howver it is for me.  I have difficulty concentrating.  Ok...I am totally exhausted and have to go lay down.  Thank you for answering my questions.  Wil try to complete this at a later date.

NYGirl: I did 72 weeks and would do it again.

Is this a hypothetical, or are you actually planning on doing it again just to bring back the good ole' days :) I mean, think of all the ice cream you could eat again :)

"What have other people on this forum been told about precautions after tx and SVR???"

What does that mean?  Precautions - I am not understanding the question sadd, I'm a bit slow!

Like Meki I'm SVR for almost two years.  I did lose my thyroid due to treatment but I no longer have the disease that was eating away my liver pretty quickly without me even knowing it. Easy trade off if you ask me.

And I LOVE Proactives post - there are a LOT of pro's that come with completing treatment - one can't worry about the what ifs on the downside because the what ifs of end stage liver disease and liver cancer are so HUGE they outweigh any of the little what ifs that exist to any rational person.

I did 72 weeks and would do it again.

Side effects--after tx--svr
Not worrying about infecting others..
Not freaking out if you cut yourself
Not worrying about progressive liver damage.
Not worrying about blood tests
not worrying about multitudes of doctor appointments
Having to not worry---priceless!
Just to name a few--postive side effects................;^)

Nothing about pancreatitis...

But --- a year and a half POST TX --- cleared HCV - but have Neuropathy and Fibromyalgia.

So --- things can happen.

What are you curious about?

It was a rough ride for me during and after treatment --- but I believe it was worth the price --- because I think I was going downhill so very fast - that I couldn't wait for the pipeline to happen...

And I am paying the price for living --- it is a small price to pay.

I also hope that eventually the Fibro will dwindle...

So what's up in your neck of the woods?

Ya think ya got pancreatitis?

Or what?

And were you on TX?

Nice to meet you.
