Hepatitis c and the Lupus connection

by happy, Sep 16, 2000 12:00AM
Hello,
lhad a hepatitis c test in 1998 and am anti-body positive with lots of illness problems including chronic fatigue, l have a past history of jaundice in 1978 and my mysterious illness started shortly after this episode of jaundice, in view of the fact that there was a lot of media coverage about people who had anti-D and subsequently got jaundice l went and had the test done and the specialists say that l have had the virus and my systemn has cleared it as l am showing antibody positive now in the last 2 months l have been diagnosed withS.L.E. and nobody can tell me if there is a possible connection and if there is , is it likely that the hepatitis triggered the lupus . l have what l now believe were flares since 1979. Hope that you may be able to throw some light on the subject.
Thank you,
Happy.
