Hepatits C risk?

How is Hepatitis C sexually transmitted? i've never had ana; or vaginal sex, and did not perform oral sex, only received unprotected oral sex and engaged in deep open mouth kissing, was fingered ad that's it. is that risky for hepatitis C? i have never shared needles, so what is this risk?

Hi,
Sorry I didn't see your note to me above. My point was it is very difficult to get hepatitis C sexually, but it is easy to get hepatitis B and HIV sexually. So that is why many people get confused and think hep. C is also easily passed that way. Hepatitis A comes from conaminated food (contaminated with feces) is why people who serve food must wash their hands well after going to the toilet and before going back to work.

I'm so sorry to hear about your molestation. It helps to see a counselor about this issue.

I'm very sorry to have suggested that you were not sincere in your question. There is someone who comes on here every couple weeks and asks all kinds of ridiculous sexual questions. I thought you were him.

If you want to send me a private message just click on my name.

There's a little bit of bad in the best of us and a little bit of good in the worst of us.

God bless you.

you bet it is,  that means so far you do not have any sexually transmitted disease.
let me know how it goes monday.  if you need to talk to me you can send me a message thru my profile by highlighting my name "kcrandy" and click on that and it will take you to my profile and you can send me a message. if that does not work you will have to sign in.  it is easy to do.  i know some on here gave you a hard time,  but do not let that discourage you from asking legitimate questions about diseases or virus as result of what happened to you.

i will say this there are groups out there that deal with your issue and you will see that you can get some real help for people like yourself.  i know this because i too am a survivor of sexual abuse and finding other survivors helps tremendously.

so let me know how it goes tommorrow and i will keep you in my prayers.

sorry for the delay, doing laundry.

basically i mean both.  i know from my own past that things that you have shared can get better.  the physicians will make sure you are ok physically and the counselors will help you thru the other iisue you shared.  just never forget that what has happened to you is NOT YOUR FAULT WHATSOEVER!
keep me informed, let me and everyone else we are all pulling for you.

if you read my post i am sure you read that i was thinking you were or are being molested that is why i suggested that you call a rape crisis line tonight asap today right now do not wait call....  i for one do not know what your culture is you did not say.  i said you  "should" be fine.  now that you have shared that you were molested that is why i suggested you call or confide in someone either your school counselor, teacher,  i say this with confidence that people in authority are going to look out for you and not the one who molested you.  are you in the united states can you say what area you are in.  i promise i will look for a phone number for counselors in your area who specialize in situations such as yours. please do not give up you have done nothing wrong.  the person doing this to you is the one who should be punished and reprimended for his actions.

i am guessing that you are a very young person with  some questions that are either a prank or you are being molested by someone.  you speak as a young person that in the first place should not be experimenting with sex if you are not even sure how disease and or viruses such as hep a b c, hiv, std's are transmitted.  i would talk to a counselor at you school or call your local health dept and ask them what you have described in this group and see if they can give some info that will help you.  yes most counselors are confidential to the point that if they feel a person could be in iminent danger will they report their findings to the appropriate authourities..  talking to your mother at this time would be good thing if that is possible, if not talk to a very close friend, grandma etc.

do not worry i think you will be fine.  let us know how this comes out.

ps.i almost forgot you can look in the phone book or ask information for your local rape crisis line and you can call them tonight and they are confidential and can answer the same questions you are asking in this gorum, hope this helps

this exposure was almost 5 years ago. it was forced, and i am worried of getting infected. i don't have a support system, and i fear i'll die. luckily, i tested negative for other stds, but i am scared... i'll need counseling.

I agree with the previous posters.  Your Hiv risk is low.  If you have waited three months since this happened, get tested and deal with the result.  I believe you will be neg.

Don't come back with any more qs or comments.

Get tested and move on.

I tried to find answers on the other forums but didn't have good help.

on a side note, is it high or low risk for a woman to get HIV if a HIV positive man ejaculates his semen on his hand then fingers her vagina? or if someone cuts himself with his knife, he has the virus, and then his blood oozes off the knife a few seconds later and gets inside someone's open cut on their hand?

Btw, I do not see any risk at all for Hiv/Hep B/Hep C from what you describe.

What grandma means is that Hep B and Hiv are classic sexually transmitted diseases and are transmitted from an infected person to an uninfected person through UNprotected sexual activity.  Anal intercourse is the most risky, vaginal intercourse is risky and oral sex is low risk.

protected sex (using a condom) is safe.

Hep c is NOT considered a Std and is usually transmitted through blood transfusion or drug use.

Fyi.

There are separate forums for both Hep A and Hep B and HIV, and they will better be able to help you with your questions about those diseases and viruses at those forums.  Unfortunately, we don't have the knowledge to be very helpful to you about anything but hepatitis c, since all of us have hep c.

Hep c is only transferred by blood to blood contact, not by kissing or oral sex.  There is NO RISK AT ALL for hep c from the behaviors you described.
