The weather is cold and rainy and I thank God we live in a country where we can post what we feel without fear or retaliation. God bless our troops.
Yes...if we all are strong and believe...I have no doubt we will get through this. The treatment at times can be trying but if your strong...Shouldn't be a problem. I'm sorry to hear that you both have a trust issue with each other. I honestly feel that tx can weaken any unresolved issues going into it or enhance what was so strong before beginning! I am also from the Vietnam era. I was a hippie, but I was too busy with drugs, sex and rock and roll to actively degrade my peers for fighting in a war they could not get out of. Thank God. It gives me less to regret. I do not know what I would have done had I been more aware.
I am totally against killing. I would kill to protect my children or grandchildren. I am a Jew, so I am damn lucky to be born in the United States. I am sure I had relatives that were not so lucky. Knowing what I know now, I for sure would have killed Nazi's who were trying to destroy us.
This is the hardest thing there is. God alone has the right to take lives. But sometimes we have to protect ourselves and our innocents.
I am glad I am a female. And this is one of the few times I am glad to be older. It is not an issue for me. But I have 2 young grandsons, and the thought of either one EVER having to fight other people is beyond comprehension.
Be nice to each other. We are all we have.

Water, Exercise, and MUSIC. Chev, you're so right about music therapy. I'm enamored with Eva Cassidy, who died at 33 of Melanoma. Her family has put together CD's from her studio recordings and live performances. Beautiful songs, perfect pitch, magnificent range, she will give you goose bumps and really make you appreciate life. She sang "It's A Wonderful World" at her own tribute concert, 3 weeks before she died.
Start with the SONGBIRD CD, then get TIME AFTER TIME. You'll never regret it. And if there any guitar players out there, listen closely to the way she accompanies herself, and her chord progressions.........it's unparallel.

My SO used to have a body count wicket on his desktop, THEIR CIVILIAN body count was in the tens of thousands, our military body count was in the thousands. WE invaded them. There should never have been an attack, but we have evil ruling countries on every end of the world. Defense is not the same as offense. Defense has more Reason behind it.
None of our US and allies brothers and sisters should have died. But remember that Common Sense passed away and no one, but a few noticed it.
So much is done in the name of Alah, God, Muhamad,etc., that was never said for us to do.

I forgot, Jimmy Carter said it best in an acceptance speech when he got the Nobel Peace Prize. "There's got to be another way to peace other than killing each others children."
Having served in the U.S. Armed Forces and fought for freedom, i would like to remind people that freedom is not Free. It is the soldier and veteran, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. Respectfully, Dutchman
I don't question the motives of the men and women who courageously served in the armed forces, I question the motives of the "leaders". I don't see many of those leaders' kids, relatives and friends been killed and maimed.

It seems that human nature predisposes us to finding reasons to seggregate someone; skin, religion, gender, etc and that we must fight the urge to do just that in our personal lives.
Everyone will have to answer to a higher consciusness someday.
We probably should keep these controversial issues at another forum, where they might have a better fit. as chev said, we are engaged in a different battle in this forum. A very common enemy, small in size but large in consequences.

I guess we have forgotten about the contractors burned and hung on a bridge, troops being dragged through the streets tied to cars, hostage video, Jessica Lynch, the grieving families, bin Laden still on the loose, my Daddy doing 4 yrs. of heavy combat duty in Europe, children without parents, the Army virtualy begging my son to rejoin after serving 10 yrs. after enlisting at the age of 18 because he was in the Special Forces and graduated from airbirne school and a sharpshooter, and $30 to fill up my Camaro so George could get his Daddy a military base and despite all this is still trying to overturn Roe vs. Wade and deny me my disability. I am on a rant now after not being able to sleep, breaking out in cold sweats, swelled up like a pumpkin, and feeling like hades. Billions to rebuild a country that would not do anything for us all the while Germany rebuilding and God only knows what the Chinese are doing. The only thing good about being sick now is Allen will not rejoin because I told him I would die from worry and I would since he is my only living child. I know what happened was horrible but I don't remember no world outrage over the way our POWs were treated in Viet Nam and most of all the Holacaust which everybody knew about and ignored. Pass the collection plate.

Hi Cuteus, i can honestly under understand what you mean by "raw emotional state". These meds can really affect my thought process at times, for example, i told my wife the other day i was going outside to wash the grass, i meant cut, but wash just popped out. She looked at me strangely (which i have gotten used to) and then i realized what i said and we both just busted out laughing. 17 more weeks to go, and this old dogface is just trying to hang. I sincerely hope that you hang tough too. We will all make it through this together. Dutchman

Your war poem is making my eyes tear as I read it. You captured my thoughts all so perfect in that writing and all so well! I get so angry at times at what is going on and its all so very frustrating and yes...I know this is not a forum for politics but this is something major going on and affecting all of OUR lives. Its just so, so....SAD!

Hey guys, I love you to for being you. (smile) I just got back on here to let you guys know I have read everything you guys have told me. Your the wind benief my wings. My ray of light that slips in therw closed blinds. Your the warmth on my cheeks when Im laying in the sun. Your the soft cloth that touchs my skin and keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I think you from the bottom of my heart with all the love I can muster, as I set here Im typing with tears in the wells of my eyes. Not because im sad, its beause I have you. No matter what ever gos or comes, I will always be here with all of you, praying for us all. Remember that everything is from God, the good and the bad, what we might see as being bad, might end up being good. I know that heaven is waiting for me, I will ask God to give me enough time to learn to dwell in the right state of mind so I can see what truly waits for me on the other side. For those of you who feel that there is no God, keep in mind that scientist believe in him. Now that they found out about the gene, (its a blue print, take a gene from someone and create a baby from it and it will be exactly like the one you took it from). That means we are created from a blue print, if you take a blue print, and give it to a contractor and tell him to build, every building will be exactly like the other. This means we are created by design, meaning someone or something greater than us drew it. Now we are built perfect, from the way we have children to the way our bodys work.
