Mine is 2.6 and my retarded GP said no way will that cause itching, saw a HEP doctor and am on ursodiol. How long did it take to stop your itching?

Three years ago I developed itching over my entire body.  Seeking treatment for the itching is how I found out that I have Hep C.  My doctor prescribed ursodeoxycholic acid better known as Ursodiol or Actigall and it did the trick eliminating the itch which was quite possibly related to my elevated bilirubin count.  Good luck to you.

My bilirubin is at 2.6, alt 119 and ast 139. I cannot stop itching and have real bad nerve sensation all over my body, like getting poked with an ice pick every where. My GP says not the bilirubin, hep doctor says yes, any input would be great.

You must have the total bilirubin numbers wrong. Or you are totally yellow!
Jaundice, yellowing of the skin and the white part of the eye, occurs when bilirubin builds up in the blood at a level greater than approximately 2.5 mg/dL.
