High Liver enzymes, high blood platelets, good cholestrol

Went to the doctor,I have high liver enzymes, good cholestrol. Will be rechecked in 3 wks.I was diagnosed with hep c at 23,I am 42.In 1995  I was diagnosed as chronic,But 2004 only showed 64,000 parts per something in the blood in a RNA viral load test.I have increased edema, dyr skin, i take a lasix to reduce the swelling and a laxative often to keep me regular. My bones have been hurting for about 3 months.I take adderall for Adult ADD.I drink occasionally but will not anymore for fear of worse conditions.I am very fatigued ...I own a businesss and my husband owns a restaurant ..Rest factor is slim. What does all this sound like to you?Is the disease progressing. What is going on that I can change...is luekemia or lupus associated with long term hep c? My tests last time (3 months ago) were good.i also took an antifungal medicine (20 pills) for a nail fungus for because of a nail injury at my flower shop. She said that the pills was hard on my liver ,will they(enzymes and blood platelets) go down without too much damage or do you think there could be something more. What kind of doctor do I need to see to have a good check up about this and/ or what kind of tests should I suggests to my doc.? I just started 2 years ago with this doc and I didnt have anything going on until now.HELP!

you should have never been prescribed an antifungal with liver disease. Your doctor was wrong to do that. Nail fungus you can live with, a liver you cannot live without.

Most doctors, including specialists, have no idea just how HARD many drugs are on the liver. You should check with your hepatologist before you take anything another doctor prescribes.

You need to get a liver biopsy ASAP to determine how far your liver damage has progressed.  End of the story!  If you have been diagnosed this long and have high liver enzymes and have been drinking you really do need to find out where you stand and if you need to do treatment.

I had no idea I had this disease until 2005 - already had stage 3 liver damage. Never had one symptom or sign or anything I just got lucky during my physical they noticed that my enzymes were high and knew what it most likely was. I needed to treat for 72 weeks but have been cured for almost two years now.

It's imperative you find out what is going on.  A liver biopsy is relatively painless believe it or not and we've just about all had one. It is CRUCIAL - your viral load really means nothing but having high enzymes with your long term history...you really need to see someone who specializes in hep that can lead you down the correct path as this doc apparently is not if you have not yet had the necessary testing done.

Do you know what genotype you are?
