Hoffman-LaRoche, the manufacturers of Pegasys and Copegus, are conducting a trial that includes four groups, several of which are getting double-dose Peg and a weight-based dose or Copeg. Patient criteria is geno 1, weight in excess of 85 kg, treatment niave, at least 800,000 .  

CockSparrow, I'm G2 S2, 55 yo, geno 1b.  I didn't want to wait for the newer drugs because I didn't want to go G3 S3, and I didn't like the chances of SOC because the doses the insurance companies will pay for in most cases aren't high enough.

bill - Answer is yes, started at 22 mil.  Incidentally, tjaloha's is in the same study.  He started at 22 mil also, think he went UND at 10 weeks. The caveat here is there are four groups, random and double-blinded.  So nobody knows what they're really getting, but it becomes more obvious as the labs come in.

CockSparrow - My sides have been for the most part tolerable, fatigue being the biggy. But yesterday I worked an 18-hour day and lived to tell about it, so I'd say the sides are comparable with SOC.  However, that's not to say that some won't need rescue drugs, but so far, its been just the nagging sides for me.

Its easier to gauge the Pegasys, the Rib is still a mystery.  I started at 226 lbs., currently 211.  The Rib could be 1200, 1400 or 1600.  But I can't tell.
