>>Do you have a risk factor for hepatitis? Blood transfusion before 1992, any Idu even from long ago etc.<<
Ill throw in here. I endured a bout of Hep B back in the early 70s as a result of IDU during college.. cultural anti authority behavior common back then. Anyway, had to withdraw for a semester while I healed.. Which I did.. Completed college and went on with my life. Again, this was about 35 yrs ago. Over the last decade, some of my liver function tests have come back a little high. The range over this period has been: AST: 38 to 70, and ALT: 44 to 77.
So, prompted by your quote above, Im asking what has my misdeeds of 35 yrs ago got to do with these occasionally elevated results? Ive been diagnosed as clear of the disease as of 1975, and havent had a drink in 20 yrs, and have not done any IDU since 1975. Nor have I been sick since then. I fail to see how the behavior way back then, the disease of which has been cured, would be relevant today. At least in my case, with only spradically slightly elevated results. In my case, I do intense weight training 1.5 hrs per day, 5 days a week. I just read where, "...elevated levels of ALT do not automatically mean that medical problems exist.Fluctuation of ALT levels is normal over the course of the day, and ALT levels can also increase in response to strenuous physical exercise [1]. " I dont mean to steer this away from the original poster, but I see this as relevant to the thread.
Your alt and ast are a little high. I believe the 'normal' level for females is lower than for a male.
Do you have a risk factor for hepatitis? Blood transfusion before 1992, any Idu even from long ago etc.
Be honest when you answer this.
Good Morning,
Your ASt and ALT are not that high. Average AST 0-41 and I read ideal is 21, AST 0-48, with ideal 24.
I have learned that we can only get more stressed by all the worry. I am "trying" to keep thuings in perspective.
Have you started your treatment or do you have to do it?
Good Luck
