Hot coffee and meds

I thought about this when I was drinking my coffee after I took my morning Sovaldi and Riba.  I know heat is not good for meds in general but would drinking hot coffee raise the temp enough in your stomach to affect the meds?   it might be far feched but who knows I never heard this disscused before.

Best wishes for successful treatment and achieving SVR

The heat concern for meds is mainly related to storage.

FYI Anyone interested in reviewing general medication storage recommendations.

Many people store their medications in the bathroom.. But this popular spot is actually one of the worst places to keep medicine
Being exposed to heat and moisture can make medicines less potent before their expiration date

The temp of liquids, hot or cold should not have an affect on any type of meds someone takes. Staying hydrated is important when taking tx meds, even the DAA's can be a little dehydrating but nothing as bad as SOC tx.
I'm drinking half my body weight in ounces, all water intake then some extra water because I've been craving coffee like crazy with this all oral meds tx I'm on. Coffee tastes better now then ever, wonder why. :-)

Good luck with your tx and wishing you SVR :-)

By the time the coffee gets to your stomach the degree isn't important.
However, drinking lots of coffee ( 3+ cups daily) is a very good thing both for the liver and for treatment results with hep C.

I don't know about the heat.  But I would be eating food with that Ribavirin.
So, with food...I don't the coffee would have little effect on your meds.

Best to you
