I'm still a work in progress... but count me in!

I was still undetectable 4 mo post tx
(which is good sign & great considering I had already relapsed by then after the first round) So I'm going for a 15 mo. post TX Pcr this week..

So I think I qualify... I just can't confirm just yet..LoL

Not me failed twice. 1st time was IntronA. 2nd go was with the white Horsey.
I am G3a and yet to experience the joy of relapse, so never been UND.
Actually with the What Ifs and If Onlys I have with NR, Relapse would just annoy the hell out of me.

UND at week 4
Treated for 13 weeks, was UND at 4 weeks post tx.  Will have next blood draw on 7/17, and doc appt. on 7/27.  If I'm not still UND, I don't know what I'll do because SOC causes me to have severe autoimmune problems.

I am UND since week 3, now on week 27/39. First 12 weeks were Telaprevir/Peg/Riba and since then just SOC.   So 12 weeks more SOC to go with loads of SX.  Type 1b, starting load 13 million, stage 2 grade 2.

I was a geno 2, overweight, clear at week 4, and stopped at 20.

Haven't had a 1 year post tx test yet.  Will wait until I am at the end of my pregnancy, but I was clear at 6 months post.

Aren't you forgetting an entire group of people?  You're losing half of your statistics.

You need to include the relapsers.

I wasn UND during entire TX, but relapsed at 6 months.  Therefore I'm neither SVR or UND.

by Bill1028, Jul 20, 2007 03:45PM
Count me in as an UND, I just received my 76 week end of treatment labs and it is <5.

I'm trying to decide what you would call what I did....viral breathru at 30 weeks of the flying horsey.  So..I had vb at 30 weeks of SOC, so no SVR for me, not even an UND.  Lowest I got was 100,000 at 12 weeks after a starting load of 2 million.

Me got mutated virions at 30 weeks, no UND, no SVR, geno 1, no a or b specified, stage 3, grade 3, vb at 30 weeks SOC with Pegasys.  That sums it up. Sort of.

by meki, Jul 20, 2007 08:54PM
To: Mrs. Ockert.
Ahhh yes - of course you are quite correct.

I did not count the relapsers.

I think the main purpose of the basic was that UND can be reached --- and so can SVR.

To give hope to those that are searching as to whether TX works.

I think the main answer then, would be, that TX does work for some. Not everyone. But it does work.

I'm sorry for those who have to do more than the basics. I feel for those who have to do more than one round. And for those who never clear. My heart goes to them. Because I don't know if I could have done more than one round. Those people - They deserve medals - Purple Hearts. Because that TX was the worst thing I've ever done. I made it through...

But I don't know if I could do it again.

I obtained UND at Week 4 of the Vertex Prove 3 trial and go in next week for the next major gate: Week 12. The tough part is knowing that the results will not be shared with me until Week 14. I am cautiously optimistic, and have been extra diligent regarding taking my meds at the scheduled times. My attitude is that one way or another, I'm going to have a SVR. Like professionals whom have credential abbreviations at the end ot their names: e.g., P.E., M.D., LVN, etc., I'm going to place SVR at the end of mine!  Oops! Got to go - time for my ribavirin!

I actually treated twice.  The first time in ’02 I used a peginterferon/ribavirin combination.  I developed a intestinal infection the first month of treatment and decided to suspend treatment for a year.  In ’03 I used Pegasys/ribavirin combo for 24 weeks.  No problems the second time around.

Geno 1A.

Round 1 was Pegasys monotherapy (insufficient response at 12 weeks- during acute stage).

Round 2 is Pegintron / Riba combo therapy (technically started during chronic stage). UND at 4 weeks, about 30 odd weeks in of 48.

Symptoms of Round 2 are far far worse than Round 1 was indicating to me that Riba is the nasty drug in the mix, not interferon (or that Pegetron is much much worse for side effects than Pegasys).

Geno 1b, VL before treatement between 2-4 milion, UND since week 6, done 48 weeks of tx, now 4 weeks post tx I am UND.

My reccomendation - if your doc is telling you to go for treatement, do that, it is not easy but it is not so difficult, if you don't do the treatement it can be much more difficult.
It was difficult for me on some parts along the treatement but is was also very difficult for me to leave with the infection before the treatement.

So I recommend to do the treatement.

wish SVR for all of us.
