How much water?

I understand that one has to keep well hydrated during tx.  I am a big water drinker anyway.  I am 145ish lbs.  How much water do I need to drink according to my body weight?  Gallon each day?  Not too far from the bathroom eh?

I drink minimum 1 gallon/day.  Every morning when I get up I start by chugging a 16 oz. bottled water just to get the first one of the day out of the way.

My last tx I didn't drink water as regularly and had headaches constantly.  None this time around.

I have to go take a pee, bye.

More water than you most likly drank before!
I always keep it at my bed side and every where I go.
Those head aches are no fun.

Remember - while juice and things like that aren't as good for you they DO count toward the water number.

Half your weight in ounces for example if you weight 100 pounds you drink 50 ounces minimum if you weight 200 pounds then you have to try for 100.

Lots and lots of water.  As much as you can force yourself to drink.  It will help with the side effects.

At first it may seem that 73 or 80 oz is alot of water. Most do not drink that much normally.   About a month down the road you will notice that you are drying up so to speak and water is the only answer.  There were nights that I felt that my tounge had been glued to the roof of my mouth.  Water helps the skin etc from the rash as well.

I weigh 140 and I'm only in my third week of tx.  I started drinking 70-90 oz three days before I started treatment.  I have some sx, but I'm sure the water helps.  No headaches yet.

A general rule of thumb provided by many doctors is to drink one-half your body weight in ounces. For someone 145 lbs, this would amount to ~73 ounces of water.

Good luck with your treatment efforts, and take care
