Hvc question

I tested positive for hep c antibodies and my viral load was undetectable does that mean im cured? They told me to come back in 6 months to retake the test. Is it possible the virus is dormant or hidden?

Probably does mean you are cured.
- Testing positive for HCV antibodies demonstrates exposure to the virus.
- Viral load undetected means that the virus is not replicating which is regarded as no longer infected.

There have been unsubstantiated theories and suspicions about the virus remaining dormant in various parts of the body. Particularly when people suffered through Interferon treatment for years only to have the virus bounce back right after stopping treatment. It seems like the new treatments are disproving it. Only time will tell for sure, but I would say don't worry about it.

Be happy now. Be even more happy after your 6-months confirmation test.

I have never gotten any treatment for it , but yeah at the clinic they told me don't worry to my believe you cleared the virus by yourself which is what happens in 15-25% of people. I was just looking for a second opinion Thanks!
