Most people have had Hepatitis C for many years before they are first diagnosed. So unless you were infected very recently, I would think that the itchy skin and nausea you speak of is probably coincidental. There is also the possibility that the symptoms are psychosomatic, meaning that the itching and nausea could be caused by the stress of finding out you have Hepatitis C. You should also know that the symptons you mention are not generally associated with Hepatitis C, except perhaps in the very acute or advanced stage, but my guess again is that it's coincidence. That said, the person to address these concerns with would be your doctor who has access to your full medical records. Are you currently seeing a liver specialist (hepatologist)? That would be your best choice and they can generally be found at your larger, teaching hospitals. FWIW I had Hepatitis C for close to 40 years before treating and don't remember ever having nausea or itchy skin except related to things like the flu, something I ate, or perhaps an allergic skin reaction on occasion.

Is the the first time you've ever had itchy skin and nausea?

What are your liver biopsy results, stage and grade?
