Thats a good question ..and one I don"t know the answer to. I know that this particular finding on the IL28B was an "ad hoc" to the 111Advance Trial (tela)
I do know there was 15% chirrotics in that trial.. however it did not mention how many were looked at for the results in the IL28B findings.

Do CC cirrhotics treatment naive have the same odds?
And if you RVR...by that study your chances are about 95%...there is no better odds than that in this game I have ever seen :)
HI Cin....yes as a tx. naive that study showed 90% success with Tela and the CC...time to jump in the pool.....hee hee
Hey Wil-I didnt see the studies on the CC and triple therapy-Thx for posting that!!!!Thought ti was for soc tx only....Now im at 90%??????? cindy
The IL28B gene marker test is a blood test sometimes done to predict success to HCV therapy. It is not what Geno type you are...that is a completely different and separate blood test. Do you know your HCV geno type?. If you have Geno type 1 (for example) the results in studies doing triple therapy with Incivek ..showed the following results for the three different IL28B alelles.
treatment Naives(never before treated) CC allele: 90% success
CT 71%
TT 73%
Not all doctors advise the test as there is still a approx. 70 _75% chance of success doing the triple therapy regardless of what IL28B aleele you are.
Good luck...the study I referred to is listed below...

The IL28B polymorphism test is a genetic test to see which alleye you carry. You get one alleye per parent. It can be CC (which increases the chance of SVR) CT (somewhere in the middle) or TT (which is not as good as the others). The is a determining factor for SOC which is for riba and interferon tx only Does not apply in triple therapy.
The CC alleye has also been associated with a 3 fold increase in the rate of SVR.It is one of the many factors that can influence response rates to therapy(SOC).
Not to be confused with the different types of genotypes of Hep C. cindy
