I was surprised

My body aches have intensified in severity and and frequency in the past few weeks and since Tylenol doesn't work for me, I was taking Ibuprofen 2 to 3 times a day and it started getting to the point where my stomach felt kind of raw when I'd take it. I told my doctor about this and he told me that he didn't want me taking Ibuprofen more than once a day. He wrote me a prescription for Ultram which says it is for moderately severe pain. My surprise was that this new medicine doesn't work nearly as well as Ibuprofen in cutting the pain. Has anybody else noticed this?

I'm glad you told me I could become addicted to Ultram. My doctor prescribed it 3 times a day.

I had to take ibuprofen too - Ultram did absolutely nothing for me.  Once in a while I could take a percocet or two but the doc was pretty careful because of my past history, so I only got them for real emergencies.

I think your doc should write you something better than Ultram...you  couldn't use it all the time or you'd become addicted to it as I once was however once in a while it sure could give you some relief.

Tylenol doesn't work for me either. I try to limit my ibuprofen intake to one dose a day too.  One thing of learned through 12 weeks of treatment the aches can come at any time.  Very strange last week I couldn't straighten my left leg completely. I hope the Ultram helps you.
