INF timing / Variation- need advice

Hey guys, hope all is well. I'm week 16 of treatment- UND at week 12. I fly quite a bit for work and will be traveling on Friday, which is the day for my shot. I normally take my shot at 10pm, but with travels its going to be difficult to take it around that time period.

I have a two fold question. Would anyone recommend the shot prior to traveling(say much earlier in the day) or should I get through traveling and try for around 12am. I have full days on Friday and Saturday, so there isn't going to be much rest, unfortunately.

2nd question- last time I took the INF with me, the traveling cooler that came from Pegasus didn't hold a chill very long. Its not high quality. I need a small travel cooler(small enough to fit into carryon), that will keep meds cold for 7 hrs+. Any ideas or places that others have purchased?

Thanks for your help!

7 Hours should not be a problem, with a cold pack.  Use 2 cold packs in a container if needed.  A couple of hours isn't going to hurt the interferon any.  The date on all of my Pegasys was over one year before it expired.  Getting a slight bit warm for an hour or two won't hurt at all.  I always let mine warm up for 30 mins. before injection.  Try to inject as close to the same time every week that you can, within reason.  Two or three hours won't matter too much, just don't miss a dose!

I agree with James also....2 hrs  either way won"t make a difference. With INF you just don"t want to do it a day or so late as it can leave the system fairly quickly  and could adversely affect results.

BTW...congrats on UND  at wk.12

Just an opinion ... in taking a interferon shot once a week I don't think one needs to be so precise in the timing. If the difference is the two hours from 22:00 to midnight, shouldn't make a difference.
