I did the 48 week teatment of Ribo & weekly shots of Pegitron... But it didn't work. I just started the Daily dose of Infergen & double strength Ribo. I take 15 mcl a day, a whole vial. I lost 3/4ths of my hair the first round...I reckon it will all go now. I've been asking for anyone to help tell me what to expect, but not much luck so far. I'm Genotype 1 A, My Alt & those other 3 or 4 all said "Normal" I dropped down from 3 million to 4 thousand, before ending back up at 8 million. My Hep C Dr. is Dr. Bacon from St.Louis... but the last 5 months, I only saw his Nurse Practioner... And she seemed to be annoyed that I was even there wasting my time. Anyone else with some advice? I've lost 35 lbs. & ended up in the ICU 4 times during that 48 weeks... but never told my Hep C Dr. I figured he would drop me like a rock, and this Infergen is my only hope. Have a Great Holiday! My vl at week 24 of pegasys and riba was <10. I am still considered detectable. My Dr has me on daily Infergen shots plus riba. I'm on my 3rd week. I have 33 weeks left. My body became accustomed to pegasys, but I'm still adjusting to Infergen. More fevers, chills, nausea, anemia and depression. Where I'm being tx , the dr's are going straight to infergen for nonresponders. They said they have had greater results with infergen after nonresponding to pegasys. Infergen is tougher on the body. Infergen is some how derived from eColi. Whether this has anything to do with strength and efficacy, I do not know. It is definitely kicking my butt.
I've have been on infergen since Aug. 31st, My g/f goes to Baylor in Dallas because her liver is really bad. The Baylor Dr. told her that infergen has been around since 1986. Although I had never heard of it. I give myself a shot every night 7 days a week. At week 5 my viral load was undetectable. I still have to do the tx for another 10 months. Now I have to go on Procrit so I can finish this. Red blood count to low. Here in Houston infergen is not a Trail, Dr's just prefer not to use it. Hey if if works do it.

This information is a little confusing as I am considering the Infergen treatement. I did treatments where the dose was three time a week and another one that was once a week. Are there any results from the treatment you are taking and what is the dosage amt.
Thanks for all your replies. I have taken Pegasys before this Infergen trial. I think this drug makes me more tired than Pegasys but, except for the first night, I dont have any fever, chills or soreness. I believe Im on day 13 now and aside from needing a lot more slepp Im doing pretty good.

How are you feeling taking the daily Infergen? I'd really like to know the ways that this kind of potent form of interferon affects the body. I've survived three regimens of variations of the combo rx's. I think Infergen may be the next thing for me.
I may need to begin Infergen. Can you tell me in what ways it tougher on the body?
I am on Infergen with Ribo. I have been doing daily shots sinc 9/23. I was originally on Pegintron with Ribo and relapsed. I find that this tx is much tougher on the body.

Hi! Yes, my hubbie is on daily infergen and riba, an Intermune study. He started in late August so he is just finishing his 8th week. I'll see if I can get him to sign on...if not I'll be back!
