Injection Question

Tonight was my 4th injection and I pushed the plunger to a little more than 180 which is supposed to be my dose.  Is this is a problem?  What else is in the pre-filled syringe and is the max amount 180 of interferon?

Are you using Pegasys? Clear syringe? Marks at like 180, 120, 90, and so on?

Who knows, maybe packaging is different. I can usually get at least "185" or "190" out of the syringe. Course, I'm just extrapolating. There are not actual marks at "185" or "190". The biggest is "180".

I always try to squeeze 185 out of it like pj1881.

Hold vertical, flick the air to the top... as soon as I see the first drop emerge.. I stop and pop!

I figure if 180 is good, 185 is better! Heh, the thought has crossed my mind to draw a little water back into the syringe and get the rest of it as well. But I have not done so, and it's probably not a sanitary idea anyhow.

The little extra amount injected won’t likely cause harm. There have been ‘induction’ studies where patients injected 360 µg/week IFN without significant adverse events.

I think after getting the air out, the plunger is pretty much right on the 180 mark. maybe just one or two drops more.

I push to get out the air... I leave as much as I can in the syringe, maybe even more than 180!! I guess that my "old thinking" more is better?? Not only that, my street drug shots that got me HCV+ cost like $30, these cost a couple thousand... Back in the day I wouldnt lose a drop.. Go figure..

It happens to all of us.  As long as you are receiving the correct dose most of the time you should be fine.
I believe the pre-filled syringe may have a little extra and the 180 is the dose beyond the line.
