Don't know what I did wrong starting thread but...Finally after battling my insurance co my meds are being delivered this Tuesday. FLGuy, looks like you and I are both starting next Friday. I do have a bit of advice for others who are having problems getting their meds. Whatever paperwork, lab tests etc your insurance co will need from your Dr to approve your meds send yourself. My meds were held up for quite some time for something as simple as my VL. The Dr.s office said they sent it-Insurance said they never received it. It does pay to keep records of everything. I learned the hard way.

Whew, bet you're glad that part is finally resolved.  You are right on about maintaining your own set of records, labs and correspondence.  The last piece that got mine approved came from my copies, not the doc.  Being anal does payoff!  Ok, we start next week.
You should expect an automated voice message from them Monday night saying the stuff was shipped.  Another thing to keep in mind a few months down the road...After the first 24 weeks  Aetna will need to verify with your doc that the second half of the perscription is still warranted. So, mark a calendar to follow up with them again in March (Aetna begins this process 30 days ahead - around March 1 for you). Need to make sure there's never an interruption in meds.  In fact, the monday after your 4th shot, and every 4th week thereafter, call the specialty pharmacy and tell that you need your next 4 weeks. It's probably overkill, but need to stay on top of them - for obvious reasons.
Shipping the kids off next weekend?

Glad your meds are on the way.  I know how the insurance companies have to much power, the power should be in the Drs hands not the ins.co.  But now that that's over with you can start tx next week.  FLguy Did your meds get to you yet?  Will be watching you guys as you both start your new journey.

Going to try. The specialty pharmacy told me the exact thing. I am only good till March. I will handle things differently next time for sure. Will try to keep very busy this week so I don't have a lot of time to think about it. Probably by Thursday I will have a million questions about the first shot so please have patience with me.

How are you Mr. Beagle? I was here a while before I started posting so I know what you went through. Hope I can stay as positive as you did. If I read correctly you were accepted into a new trial, right?

Yes, got the meds on Wedesday.  They wink at me every time I open the fridge.  This time the riba are the little pink pills. Last time they were the larger capsules. That's good because 6 of the capsules would not fit in my daily pill box thing with my vitamin and BP med.  Now, they'll all be cozy together.
Heading to Hutch in a couple of hours, with a stop in Jupiter first.  Last 'free' weekend for a while.  Weather should be nice at the beach this weekend and will probably be around the Ashley area Sat night.

In another 8 days you'll be a veteran. Which peg , Pegysys or PegIntron are you getting?  Either will come with full instructions and I think I got a VCR tape with PegIntron way back (never watched it).  But you have help with the shot by your nurse friend, so you'll be fine (just remind her the shot is SubQ not IM). No question too silly and you've seen around here how people come to the aid of the rookies.  I won't be around here M-W next week (travel)

Merlino, I'm doing fine, thanks for asking.  I'll be here to help you get through tx, it's not easy but it is doable, as NY girl has said.  I have decided not to do the trial as if my HGB does start to drop I'll have a problem agin.  I am going to wait till the new drugs come along.  Bobbyullc, helped me decide not to do it and to wait.   Have know Bobby since my teens and he has a point.

Flguy, So your going to Hutch this week end, the weather should be good.  Jupiter is where my wife wants to move to, will see.  Glad you got the meds.  The Ashley, Is Stuart having an event this week-end?

The son is going to watch his H.S. fottball team play in Jupiter tonight. It's a nice area but Vero and PSL are a little farther away from the busier world here. Nothing special that I know in Stuart this weekend, just the normal milling around downtown.

MrB, hopefull within the next yr or 2 we will have something. If it weren't for my children I might have waited. I guess we all have to do what we think is best. I am very glad you will be around for my tx.I am pretty scared.

FLGuy, I thought I could cut my travel time back. Not happening. Yesterday traveled for day 6hrs on rd, 4 in meetings. Passed out in minutes when I got home. I KNOW I won't be able to keep this up on tx. Will try to schedule travel to later part of week.

I love it there. Relaxed, not too crazy-busy and with the rivers and ocean there's a lot of nice scenery. Surprisingly, quite a bit of wildlife too.

Melino, try not to be scared.  For me the first shot was like getting the flu, with fever, chills, etc.  Remember to drink plenty of water and take tylenol for the fever.  You may be one of the lucky ones that had no sxs on the first shot.

FLguy/kespr -- Stuart is a great little town. Kespr I'm moving back down there, right now I'm in central Fl for 2 years now but like it better in south east Fl so back I go.  I have the house up for sale now.  Hutchington Island is a great place to, with great beaches.  I hope I'm back down there soon.
