Insurance

by PennieLane, Mar 07, 2008 06:06PM
So i have a question about health insurance.  If i end up testing positive, will they notify my insurance? Also, will my insurance continue to carry me?  I am still on my parents health insurance and I dont want to be unable to get health insurance when I apply on my own in a couple years.  What do you know about this?

They won’t actually call your insurance co and tell them you have Hep, but your insurance will figure it out when they get the bill for meds.

The insurance co will not drop you because you test pos. That’s what they are there for.

If you are going to try to get insurance on your own with Hep, you will have a hard time finding one that will take you and when you do find one, the premiums and deductibles may be expensive.

If you get a job at a company that already has insurance in place for its employees, you would have no problems due to open enrollment and then you can’t be denied.

If you do find a job with open enrollment life and medical, it’s a good idea to take out the maximum on life insurance because if you decided you want more life insurance later on, you may be denied.

Hope this helps and hope you test negative.
