it can occur when anal sex is involved or fisting, this is why hep c is up in numbers among the gay community
vaginal sex where HIV is not present is no risk or at least so minimal ,

YES from my experience. If there a blood contact YES. I've got HCV with sexsual intercourse. My boyfriend had HCV but I didn't know. He told me after 4 month, and after 6 months I went in to a hospital with acute HCV. So, if there any little wound on your genitals Yes you can get HCV for gratis. And you should not have sex while your girlfriend has menstrual cycles

the best advice i think is this
wear a condom with any partner who you are having brief encounters with, if its a long term partner and you are having vaginal sex then i would nt worry at all, unless maybe you had or partner had opened cuts or sores

In a study that was done in mongamous couples absolutely zero of them caught hepc from their partner. The only ones who did show up infected had completely different strains of the virus meaning they could not have gotten it from their spouse.

The definition of STD is significant probability of transmission during sex.  The CDC does not suggest a change in sex habits for couples.  Having sex with a man who has a bleeding penis would be considered high risk sex.  Here are some links to help you.

sexual transmission of Hcv IS possible but very rare.  When it does occur,

almost always male to female.  VERY VERY rare for sexual transmission to be

female to male, According to the Cdc.  Hep B is easily transmitted through sexual

activity.  there is a vaccine for hep B but not hep C.  hep C is a tricky little spiglet.
