Is weight loss inevitable on tx?

I am starting treatment at the end of Feb. Genotype 3a. My question is, should I expect a significant weight loss? Is weight loss the norm and how soon after starting treatment would it occur? Can I eat a lot over the holidays...heh

lam57 after about 12wks on Tx I started loosing weight & now I'm on week 39 my weight has dropped significantly from 250 to 171 pounds I feel better with the loss & on the plus side I don't need blood pressure medication anymore ... But like someone said here that we all don't loose it, some actualy put on weight... I don't want to put it all back on after Tx maybe just 10 pounds to get normal ....

I lost about 15 lbs but now all I think about is food since I've finished with tx. I gained back 5 already in  a couple months.

Also if you develop any thyroid problems that will impact you too.........I was extremely hyper and lost 20 pounds which I really didn't have then when I went hypo I gainned them all back again (plus a few but I admit I ate like crazy afterwards cause food tasted so GOOOOD again!)

My husband's on week 18.  I think he's maybe lost a pound or two, but nothing substantial.  He's more or less maintaining.  He doesn't need to lose, though, so I'm happy. I'd say overall his appetite is down a bit, but he wants more sweets, so it evens out.

I gained around 20lbs. I could always eat. The weight gain is really depressing. I am 5'3" 145 lbs. I think a lot of the problem is I used to always work out a lot. Now I don't have the desire or energy .2 wks left if I finish this. Then I will work out again hopefully.
Good Luck

I lost some weight over the past year (~15-18 pounds) but for the most part it's come off slowly. I'm hoping to keep it off since I could afford to lose it. What is more noticeable (to me) is loss of muscle mass and I think alot of us wrestle with this.

Good luck to you !  Pam

As always in life it seems to me the folks who don't need or want to lose weight do and the ones who want to and need to don't.......cause that is just the way life works!
