Itchy Rash due to HCV?

Itchy Rash due to HCV?

I've been trying to figure out why I'm getting this rash on my lower back and then saw that a rash is a symptom of HCV. While looking at other posts about rashes everyone seems to be getting the rash while on treatment. I'm not on treatment and I have a rash. Is it HCV or not?

It starts as a small bump like a flee bite, I itch it the next day its a oval shaped welt. Then I have more small bumps then they also become welts. When itched or rubbed wrong they pulse and burn, the itching feels so good. I Know I shouldn't itch them but it itches soooooooo bad. I've been putting Utter Cream on them as a lotion to maybe ease the itch, it seems to work a bit. The only way for the itching to stop is to ignore it completely and remove myself from it. As soon as I think about it or accidentally touch them, they itch.
Also the welts/bumps are mostly in the same area, but there are a few on my butt and one up on my shoulder blade.

Any advice or anyone experience similar situation ( while not on treatment that is)  ?

Also forgot to mention that I did wash everything and made sure that I hadn't used any different soaps or eat anything different that may have caused it. I think I may have to visit a doctor.

You probably should see a doctor about that. It sounds like some kind of dermatitis but only a doctor can determine or make an attempt to find the cause. Could be an allergy. In addition, they will probably prescribe something that will provide you better relief than OTC remedies. I've dealt with eczema for years before treatment, and my prescription does a good job of clearing it up. It works good on Riba rash, too.

By any chance are these bumps kind of purplish? Like a hint purplish, not a bright purple. I had a rash like that many years ago, in the 80's before I was diagnosed with HCV. Turns out it was lichen planus which is sometimes seen with hep C. I'd go to the dermatologist also. Why be so uncomfortable. I remember well just how itchy that little rash made me. It itched so much it hurt. I hope you feel better soon.

Not purplish, there just red. Kind of like a oval lesion. There are a few that look like small bugs bites, but quiet a few that look like lesions. These ones itch more than the small ones. They haven't itched to bad today. I'm using a new body wash since I've had them and it has Shea Butter in it. I think it could possibly be helping. I won't know for a few more days. Thank you both for commenting. I don't seem to be able to understand why I show so many symptoms. I haven't had Hep.C. for to terribly long only about four or five months.
