Jack, the MMS gunnea pig's report

Let me introduce myself....I'm the Jack that rken refered to as 'the friend with hep c' in an earlier post on MMS and I'm new to this forum and trying to get some real answers and to clearify some issues that I have with this new alternative tx. And to be fair to rken, he has good intentions and was just trying to help me find some answers.

For the record.....I'm a sceptic when it comes to miracles and am turned off by the name of this alternative cure, but out of desperation with mainstream treatment not offering me more than a 50% chance of recovery, I'm going for the "miracle".

When I heard of this MMS thru a friend, I researched [googled] testimonials, reviews, cautions, on many  [alternative] medicine forums and web sites.  Mostly I found positive [but un scientific] testimonials and few cautions.  I skimmed Jim Humbel's book and it is obvious that he is neither a scientist or author, but may have accidentally 'stumbled' onto something that works.

I have been in denial with my condition for the last couple of years, being distracted by decent health, my family and life, but after reading about MMS, I was inspired to at least get a liver check-up and document the condition before i start treatment and will go into MMS treatment conservatively [according to the vague directions offered and keep a daily journal to document any changes...then at 3 months after treatment, I will return to get follow-up tests to see if there is any change and post my results.

My history in brief.....6+ years ago during a routine med exam, I was tested positive for Hep C.  Genotype 1a [the most prevalent in North America and the hardest to cure].  Two years later I went thru the biopsy and found viral load of 900K.  yearly blood tests have revealed increasing liver enzyme levels...latest being AST 63 and ALT 77.
Ultrasound revealed liver is normal in size, but diffuse coarsening of liverparenachymal, which 'could be early cirrhotic change'  The first time they used the term cirrhotic and what prompted me to get serious.
I'm 61 yrs old and decent health....little fatigue and slightly overweight at 72kilos. Ultrasound also revealed gall stones and multiple kidney stones.......maybe I'm not in decent health after all [?].....but I don't feel bad.  I assume that I contracted my hepC while getting vaccinated in the military or in getting a tattoo, during my teen age years.  That's 40+yrs that I've had this evil monster lurking inside me!
I've done a few drugs in my younger years and have had my bouts with alcohol and after turning 50, I slowed down my indulgences.

My reason for posting such detailed history is that I found details [re: MMS hep C treatment] to be lacking.  Hopefully my trial will be successful and will encourage others in my condition to go thru the MMS treatment and post their detailed reports so that we all can benefit.  If it doesn't work [for me], that doesn't mean that it won't work for you.  I'm entering this trial with an open mind and will post as many details as i can that seem relevant.

so i started MMS tx conservatively,  with 2 doses a day 2&3, 3&4, 4&5, working myself up to a goal of 15/day for 2 weeks.   During tx, I endured slight nausea and general fatigue.

At day 13 on MMS, I slowly worked myself up to 12 drops after having a setback [herx?] at day 8 and backed off to 8 drops and now back up to 12.
Yesterday i went into the hospital and got my 'mid term exam'  [liver blood tests] and was disapointed  to see an increase in my ALT/AST.  Where's the miracle??
before starting MMS 2 weeks ago, my AST was 63 and ALT 77 and ALK.PHOS.80....now ALT 69 and AST 99 and ALK.PHOS. 161.  these increases are more than I have had over a several year period between testing in the past, and i have cut my alcohol down to one glass.day from 5.
I don't know exactly what this means and if these values vary day to day in normal humans, or affected by diet, sleep or maybe lab technicians or maybe detoxing??, but it does make me want to re-evaluate MMS as a 'miracle cure' for HEP-C.

Anyway, for me...it's time to back off from this MMS and hope that it didn't do me any permanent damage.

I strongly urge others [if they choose to be gunnea pigs] to go to the effort to have baseline testing before starting this '[MAGIC?] MIRACLE MINERAL SUPPLIMENT'. as well as during tx and especially after tx and share your experiences on this and other forums.

You  owe it to yourselves and others that may follow you as well!! These undocumented testimonials of a cure for everything  CAN DO HARM, IMHO.

I think that I can honestly say that I was a good little gunnea pig re doccumentation and testing......
and I wish others the best of luck in their treatments, but beware of 'miracles',

ps,
I still have dandruff and a couple of sebacious cysts that haven't changed a bit.and my teeth are no different.

Just my experience.......

My main concern is the doubling of the alt phos and increase of liver enzymes.  Any feedback will be appreciated.

I plan to go into get retested next week for blood LFT and hopefully they will return to normal and will post results on this forum and others that I am posting on.  If still elevated, then I can say that MMS was useless [for me] and did me harm.  if lower, then maybe MMS does work and I may resume treatment. ]

any educated or experienced comments, explinations or ideas why this happened would be appreciated

Thanks in advance for info and feedback.

Sounds like a very dangerous compound, it's used as a chemical disenfectant.  It's used to clean surfaces that have been contaminated by spores like anthrax.  Would you really chance putting this in your stomach?  no thanks

Miracle Mineral Solution is a 28% solution of sodium chlorite in distilled water. Miracle Mineral Solution is a water purification product. It is not a mineral supplement nor is it sold as a mineral supplement of any kind. Though often referred to in acronym (i.e. "MMS"), an important distinction must be made between Miracle Mineral Solution and the "MMS Protocol" established by chemist and metallurgist Jim Humble and detailed exhaustively in his book, "Breakthrough, the Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century". When Miracle Mineral Solution is activated such as detailed in Jim's protocol (1:5 drop solution using vinegar with 5% acetic acid or greater, lemon or lime juice, or a 10% solution of citric acid), the chemical compound chlorine dioxide is produced. If your privately intended use for Miracle Mineral Solution is to activate it in accordance with Jim Humble's protocol, it is advised you read Mr. Humble's book and/or study various third party resources which are made available here for your safety. Any information provided herein is for educational purposes only and is NOT meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.

"You should be doing the opposite and finding ways to increase your glutathione levels"
how does one increase  glutathione levels??

re: alcohol consumption....4-5 glasses was history and now only one.  I know that even one isn't helping, but it is definately hurting less.  I'll make it down to zero ASAP.

AST was 63 and ALT 77 and ALK.PHOS.80....
now ALT 69 and AST 99 and ALK.PHOS. 161.

This isn’t surprising.
MMS is highly Oxidative. It’s bleach after all.
If you want to keep your liver stop taking it.
All you are doing is speeding up fibrosis progression.

You should be doing the opposite and finding ways to increase your glutathione levels not trying as hard as you can to deplete it.

4-5 Glasses of Red Wine is a nite is good for the Resveratrol but bad for your glutathione levels.
You have found one of the better ways to speed up Fibrosis progression.
Activate CYP2E1 with Alcohol.
Finish it off with Bleach.

I had acute hep c and had high alt/ast because my liver was inflamed.  The levels came down within a month of my beginning treatment because I responded well, but then during treatment I became so anemic that I had to have many blood transfusions - this is SO atypical, I only know of two other people who have EVER had to have transfusions on treatment.  Also, I had procrit dependent anemia prior to treatment, just don't want to scare you or anything.  After my second or third transfusion (I had fourteen altogether) my iron level became very high and my enzymes shot up once again and they stayed up until after treatment when my iron level came down to about 800.  Once again, it was attributed to the high iron level causing inflammation.  So, if you're ingesting something that your liver is having a difficult time processing, it can be very hard on your liver.  If you pick up a virus or infection, that can be hard on your liver.  You just have to be very careful, and definitely run all of your herbs and medications by your doctor first.

I think MMS was a tremendously risky thing to try for you since your liver is already compromised.  I wish you good luck if you do decide to treat, and good health either way.

Glad you found this out before it was too late.  Like many others, I wish there was another way besides SOC to kill this virus.  I''ve seen many post with awe inspiring stories of a miracle cure, from supplements to juicing, grapefuit and I can't remember what else in between.  When it's all said and done, they may feel better and some may have lower enzymes or even lower viral load, but nothing "cures" except good old peg and riba for those fortunate enough to get SVR.   Hopefully, as the new drugs are introduced to SOC, the percentages of SVR will increase and treatment time will decrease.  Until then, peg & riba is the only cure available at this time.

That's a new one on me. The only thing I have ever been told is when the ratio of AST/ALT is higher than 1, the patient is usually cirrhotc. I seriously doubt your information. Perhaps you heard wrong.

I should have mentioned that I have been on milk thistle [ok'ed by my dr, says it should be no harm] for three years.
And my alcohol intake was 4-5 glasses of red wine in the evenings, but prior to MMS tx, I cut back to one with dinner and, yes I am aware that any alcohol is bad, but rationalise that it is the only bad thing that i do to my liver and studies have said that small amounts of red wine have antioxidants.

but, please note that my wine decrease was at the same time as my starting on MMS tx and I was expecting to see reduced numbers for both reasons....but not.

Welcome, I must admit at first I thought you were going to say how great MMS was and try to sell it. Like some supplements they can cause a reaction. I think since it was only a few weeks your probably did not do any permanent damage. Believe it or not what is causing you permanent damage is that "one" glass of alcohol a day. You have to stop all alcohol and follow a good diet with exercise. These things will do so much more then supplements. There are some supplements that most on this forum take with mixed reviews but MMS is not one of them. I'm sure others will add to this. Best of luck
