Thanks act I was to lazy to get up and look at the name. Arnica gel is good. Capzasin cream good also. But racky  I forgot about how easy the mobic was on my stomach. And act is so rite on about naproxen. I took it 23 yrs ago. Horrible on the tummy. And also joint pain comes with hep c. Not everyone gets it. But thats how I was diagnosed, my rheumatologist. Good luck--kitty

I've not heard of rubbing alcohol helping joint pain before. I'd be worried about the drying effect on the skin given the treatment meds. I use a roll on menthol type analgesic on my ankle, which has arthritis.

Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc.

I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.

I almost hate to tell you this---mine seems to of gone away!! The minute you claim anything good with this treatment it turns on you!!! (Please achy joints don't come back) lol! I still have a bad knee that's been off & on forever. I got a spray called salonspas,  they make the patches also. Its helping! But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what??? Good luck racky:-) :-)
