Lab report says 'exposed' to Hep C

What does this mean?

My doc has sent me for more tests, but does "exposed" mean that I may not actually have the virus yet?

In rare cases people do clear the virus on their own. About 15-20% of the time. Usually it means you have the virus but you need further testing. Try not to worry too muh until you know.

I needed to expand on my answer.  Check with your Doc about more tests to see if you still have the virus.  Maybe you are one of the 15% that cleared the virus on your own.  Did your Doctor not mention something called PCR?  I can't believe how some doctors are so against talking to their patients.

Thank you Ron and Kalio, I am a little anxious about the further testing results. So, even tho, I shouldn't be so lucky as to escape the '70's  unharmed, I pray that I will be around to see my grandchildren, and that I will be part of the 15 to 20% who clear on their own.  

Just a little about me, I was a teenager of the late 60's and 70's. Married my teenage sweetheart, (who I separated from 10 years ago)and who passed away 2 years ago from complications relating to his Hep C & lifestyle, ie: cirrohsis and eventual liver failure. He was not in the best the best of health, emotionally or physically, for many years which I feel lead up to his death. After we found out my ex had hep c, 6 years ago, me and my children have been tested for hep c on a yearly basis. Always coming back negative.

I remarried 1 year ago, and have been in a monogamous relationship for past 7 years. My husband just got tested and he is Hep A, B, and C free. Thank you God. He, unlike me, was a non-drug user teenager, I think that may have a lot to contribute to his saving grace.

I had Hep A as a teenager, and then apparently somewhere done this road of mine, that was only discovered during this last lab test, is that I had hep b which resolved on it's own, and then the "exposed" hep c issue.

My movie list is ragged and poorly recalled but a couple resonate-"45 shades of blue" w/ rip torn(he's great)  and the new johnny cash movie-just released on dvd..real nice piece of work..hope these keep ya happy&nappy& on the couch for hours-Be Well

I was impressed with Brick too, unreal for a first time out director. Won at Sundance.
I liked Inside Man and 16 Blocks...fun stuff.

Thought Vendetta stunk. Poseidon was even worse.

Thanks there , me gonna have to check em out. The walk the line movie I liked. Been watchin the daughters tales from the crypt dvd's. Talk about crazy, especially on thease drugs. Well shot 26 here I am.

Hey me too. Not a TV wather but have enjoyed shows on CD on tx. Better than Tivo lol
I liked Prison Break and Firefly Office Space. Arrested Dev. is great!

thanks 4 the titles....i am waiting on next season of arrested develomnt-i'm hooked...also gone thru almost 3 yrs of '24 hours'-something to be said for never watchin much t.v. pre-trx,,lotta mindcandy to veg out on!!! my daughter likes 'Tales from the Crypt' too-she's 16 and right now a very maturing,adult influence in my life-hah!!!!!
