Labs were Good

Labs were Good

Went to the doc yesterday, labs were all normal. Potassium is still low, she put me on klorcon, gave me anti-nausea meds and a
script for prilosec, everything else appears to be ok, more labs next week, see doc again on the 15th. And I'm waiting to talk to my husband, after waiting a Docs office I was too tired for a major discussion. So all in all it was a good day! Really enjoyed yesterdays banter.

Did you get a copy of your labwork?  I would TOTALLY advise you to get a copy of EVERY lab and piece of paper and put it in a folder or binder.

The time may come where you will find it extremely important to have them yourself.

If you haven't gotten copies, I'd advise phoning the nurse and asking them to fax them to you (that is how I get them).

Glad to hear your labs are normal, great news... The meds that your doc gave you...can you explain what they are for. reason being ..when I start treatment and if I have similiar symptoms, it would be good for me to know names of some meds and what they are used for. I know med acts differently with everyone, but it would be helpful to know what's what, especially if alot of people had hard time with certain meds. I would then ask doc if there is anything else I can take incase something is prescribed that has not been a favorite, so to speak, amongst everyone. thanks alot!

Been waiting to hear how it went. That is such good news. I know what you mean about the doctors office. My wife goes with me on major doctor appointments because of the mental fatigue and forgetfulness. It won't be this way always. There is a end in site. Again glad for the good lab report and take care. Dale

Thank you for the encouraging words, the Doc put me on Prilosec 20 mg and Tigan 300mg as needed every six hours, some days I won't even need to take it, its only as needed. and of course she put me on potassium pills, the two bananas and glass of oj are not bringing it up at all.

Did you catch my post yesterday regarding to make sure to bring your original biopsy slides to Dr. J for re-evaluation. I believe that's part of the consult so you shouldn't be charged xtra and the info could be valuable.

Great news Gonna Beat It! I enjoyed the banter yesterday too. It's always fun to 'get' somebody without having to go through all the stress and pain.

Myown: I took Prilosec OTC for awhile. It works well for stomach pains and nausea. I changed to a script, so the ins. co would pay for it. Some of us have problems with these during tx.

I would have a hard time with discussing such a heavy topic with hubby (or anyone) on tx. I seem to be very fragile and conflict avoidant these days. It seems I can't handle any stressful situations most times. My son's motherinlaw house sat for me while I was away for 2 weeks. She is NUTS. She moved all my knick knacks around. Changed artwork. Moved my coveted mask collection around, changed all the dishes etc. I was NOT happy but can't say a thing. The housekeeper came over Monday, and was not expected by her, she went ballistic and sent her away crying. I am such a chicken and afraid she will yell at me that I said very little. I cried and told john he needs to deal with it. (He is shell shocked form his first marriage and is also conflict avoidant) Then I was afraid she wouldn't move out! She had put her furniture and curtains in! Luckily she did it on her own 3 days later. Whewwwww. I couldn't have done it. My son called to beg me to keep her here for longer. NO WAY. Now she is at his house. Daugther in law is worried that her mother will ruin her marriage...I can see why! My son hates her. The grandkids love her and she can be nice, but....get a house and a job already!

The energy to have these types of conversations don't seem to happen. I used to be good, not anymore! Riba Rage helped me deal with some issues one night, not sure that is a great option!

Hey, my family would LOVE to send her out. She comes with her own furniture and vases. Not bad looking either...

When you said "things fall into place.." you weren't referring to that cast iron frying pan were you?

Hope your feeling better.  If your potassium is low eat bananas, it happened to me and as soon as I started eating bananas my potassium went up.

You know, it took a while to respond because I was overwhelmed by your heartfelt generous offer, I had to wait till my eyes cleared. Thank you so much but, I would not dream of moving a dear loved one away from you and your family. I'm currently working on a over the bed fan design that is all cast iron pans, it could be dangerous if its not screwed togeter correctly:)

Hey, she comes with her own big kitchen knifes too. Does that change your mind?

I like the fan idea, but where are you gonna sleep?

Sounds like there's not enough time for him to have his pathologist read the slides prior to your appointment, but definitely get them to him ASAP, even if after the appointment. They are slides, not film, and they come in a set of usually 4-6, including the special stain slides. Do not let them hand you just one slide. Good luck and listen to all of what he has to say before peppering him with questions cause sometimes I've found if I talk too much, I miss out on what they have to offer.

I think you're also going to find what $600 out of your pocket gives you as opposed to the usual, slam, bang thank you mame/mister, that most of get from our insurance backed doctors. Private doctors who don't take insurance sometimes offer an entirely different experience. Too bad they're so d*mn expensive though :)

Shoot I never thought of getting them!  THAT would be such an important thing for him to look at!

Because they NEVER sent anything at all one of his staffers called me today and I told her I had done this a month ago and still can't get anything out of the med. group.  Well she was like look I'm an expert I am going to get them...I will call right now and if I have any problem I'll call you back.

I never heard back from her LOL

WHY didn't I think to ever get a copy of my film/slides whatever they are called!!!!!!!!!!  ACK!

I have all weekend to work on my Dr. J list. I'm afraid I'll need two appointments and he will charge me double.  The girl asked me on the phone today how I heard of him and I was like DR. J!!!  He's like the rockstar of doctors to me I can't WAIT to see him!!!!!  She laughed and was like yeah he is sort of like that but you will find he's very very personable and he will spend all the time with you that you need.

How rare is this staff? They are outstanding just from what I have seen already!  I wish I could afford just to go to him every few months for updates and stuff - it must be so awesome to have him manage your care all of the time!
